Dude, you should thank them. Guys get less felatio when they have a foreskin. I know a lot of girls who avoid it if they can. Also, premature ejaculation is higher because of the extra sensitivity.

Uncut. I don't think circumcisions are that common up here in the cold north where polar bears roam the streets at midsummer; as far as I know it's mainly a jewish thing here...I could be wrong, though.

Usually goes from removingthe hood of the clitoris to removing the clit completely.

If you go a search on female circumcision or excision(?I think this is the term. I heard about this in a french documentary and this is the only translation I can think of..) you should be able to find all the gory detail.

Euro's aren't into it like Americans. I know it used to be primarily a Jewish thing, but no idea how the US incorporated it into standard (til recently) practice. I know that compared to Euro's Americans are more obsessed with cleanliness. I can't tell you how many times I've heard Americans complain about smelly Europeans who don't wear deodorant.

There's been a trend the last decade or two (or more?) where parents are taking the unclipped route, mainly based on some absurdity that it traumatizes a baby (probably some idea that originated with the other ridiculousness of Dianetics). My sister and I debate about it on occaision, she being for it au natural, I prefer it the other way, but I guess it doesn't really matter unless one of us has a son and has to make a choice.

but of course this is a medical procedure sort of. I like most americans wasn't polled at the time of procedure, and got clipped. I don't really care about it, and hey if it is more maintainance to have a foreskin, then i guess i'm fine w/o one.

I remember when i was doing a radio show in college, we picked up a news item about an organization in CA that was designing devices to help you replace the foreskin. skin stretching etc. anyways, these clowns were nuts and i still laugh about it today.

i think i'd probably get my sons circumsized because of some increasing evidence that human papilloma virus is more likely to be transmitted to females from uncircumsized males. this virus has been associated with cervical cancer.

I plan to do more reading about it before i have a son anyway, so my decision is not firm yet

There's a difference between female circumsision and cosmetic surgery.

Circumsision includes removing clitoris and parts of the inner labia.
The practice is not uncommon in several countries in Africa and
is done when a girl reaches puberty in a religious and traditional ceremony with the purpose that a female should be cleansed by the pain and never enjoy having sex.

The reason I know about it is that in my neighbourhood, an african surgeon did this to refugees and immigrants as a side business in his home. People thought it was a bit weird that so many women brought their 10-12 year old daughters to him on odd hours, and someone notified the police.

He got arrested of course as swedish laws of religious freedom doesn't include torture and crippling.
