Cost of latest downtime to Varia?

Post by noel »

As I'm sure you all noticed... at 13:50 PST today, VV suffered yet another outage.

Would anyone care to speculate on what the downtime might have cost Varia?

I'm going with 10 'oopsies' and 15 'snugglebunnies'.
Oh, my God; I care so little, I almost passed out.

That's almost primetime for posting. Early afternoon post-lunch boredom is just setting in...

You need to at least double your estimate.

GEICO are scum

They love your payments, but don't DARE file a claim, they will cut you off.

You got it exactly. Geico are one of the worst insurers to deal with should you ever need them to pay a claim.

Get State Farm Insurance. The lady that hit me had it and I was paid quickly and given a nice rental car for a few weeks.

Actually I wasnt referring to losses due to VV being down, which I rather thought woulda been sorta obvious. But since memories are short, VV isnt the only board on its machine, or the only copy of the bbs code on the machine, and if there's a security hole on VV again then I gotta wonder about the other (guild) board too. The last breach on the other board is what was costly, and no, I dont mean in post counts.

I pay 147 through mine at Autoclub. I have five speeding tickets and one accident on my record. Full coverage.

Course my dad has his whole business insured through autoclub - so I think that may help. :)

$135 a month for just me, with a Sunfire GT (apparently the GT adds quite a bit)

I think it's pretty expensive considering that I have a perfectly clean liscence, no accidents, etc.

OH! I forgot. I'm a 19 year old male so I must be a horrible driver.

What a ripoff.

I'm pretty sure you need to be military or the child of someone that is/was in the military to have USAA insurance.

It's ye'ole "screw you liberals" insurance : )

It's good insurance and they have all sorts of other insurance coverages you can get as well. You also get money back from them each year...or I did...if things go well that year. They kill a lot of trees because my mailbox is constantly full of USAA mail stuff.

Geico is far and away the least expensive auto insurance I have found. I've tried State Farm, Progressive, All State etc and Geico really does beat them all by 15%. I don't know how you get your quotes, but Progressive has always been like 2 to almost 3 times the amount that Geico is.

Seems like you're the only one to say that so far. Must be where you live or something!

Have you had to file a claim with them yet?

Geico was hands down cheapest for me here in Ohio. Progressive was outrageously expensive compared.

USAA here, my grandfather was in the Air Force.

My only ticket dropped off my record 2 months ago and I am now paying $32 a month on my old lady car :( (1994 Olds) I'm adding my 23 year old co-habitant fiance/gay-roommate (and his 7-8 tickets) to my policy and his 2004 Dodge SRT4 with full cov and it goes up to $180 a month. Still not bad,.

USAA is great insurance I had it for a couple years, but due to a clerical error I moved on to another company.

I also heard at one point that they are one of a very few American insurance companies that will still carry you on a vehicle overseas. But I'm not sure on the validity of that.
