Well, I was an art major in Providence in the early 80's. I always loved punk, though the New Wave scene was coming on strong then, which was cool, too. BTW, you old timers, how shocked are you all that they are using "London Calling" now to sell Jaguars, of all things. You'd never know th...

Sometime between 8:00 and 8:30 PM ET would be my guess - Doc may know better. We did The Hole afterward, then BW for the final turn in: I am pretty sure I was logged out by 9:30.

MLB lost me as a fan after their last strike ('94?). I find it hard to believe the powers that be magically "got it" this morning, and found a path to repair the greater good of the game. I'm sure they were purely motivated by money, and realized that no one makes money when there are no g...

I still love that pick - one of my favorite all time character portraits. It also reminds me of the good old days in OG .... though I guess the same could be said for my retro pic.

Ogbar, you do realize that 20 PPG would put the Redskins in the top half of the league, right? It puts them in the middle of the pack as I see it - ie, ordinary. There is so much hype about Spurrier's offence and their current pre-season run. I just think they will light it up some weeks, and be re...

Are we talking shock value? In art school, I once saw a movie made by Salvador Dali. As I understood the final sequence, I thought she was represented in true time (much like young cole vice time travelling Cole), and not a time travelled instance of herself. The old school networks don't have a damn clue, IMHO. They focus so hard at getting ratings that the net result is the continuous flow of crap that has no redeeming worth. Two words: George Lucas. He was attached to the movie (exec producer, likely) which, of course, was all over the advertising.

Plus, I believe I saw it soon after opening, as well, so word of mouth had yet to be spread.

Worst movie I ever saw in the theatre was .... "Howard the Duck". I have never walked out on a movie, but I came so close with this piece of crap.

I have seen bits and pieces of BE on HBO. It seems quite lame, even watching it on cable ... and just about any movie is watchable on cable.

I cant get any work done with stuff that is too busy in the background. I generally make a complex texture, with perhaps an anchor image/item in the bottom right corner (in a manner like Adela's sample), which is typically representative of the machine name.
