Re: LOST: Season 5
Yeah, I've been wondering if maybe this isn't Christian's first time on the island. We're starting to find out that some of the character's parents were part of the island's history and it would not suprise me if Christian were DI or maybe part of the Widmore/Eloise/Alpert group of the 1950's. I'm a...

So I wonder why Sun didn't go back in time with the others? Maybe it has something to do with having a baby conceived on the island, as if that somehow released her from the island's hold. ..and now that we know that young Ben is part of the DI at this point, I'm curious to see how Sawyer, Juliet an...

As long as you are honest with her about what you want and don't want out of the relationship, the choice is hers what to do about it. Anyone watch the first episiode last night? I really liked it until the end and both Eric and I were like "uhh, they didn't have to go THAT far." It was a little silly. It's an interesting approach to a series, but it's a character drama with an epic (mythical) storyline, so it will take a...

Re: Homemade Sourdoughs
Basically the reason you don't want to use commercial yeast is because it is developed to rise quickly for faster bread making. The whole point of sourdough bread is that it rises slower and has time to develop natural yeasts and bacteria which gives it the sourness. Most commercial sourdoughs aren...

What's wrong with using a commercial yeast? Besides what Drolgin said, different yeasts yield different results. The wild yeast in San Francisco is what makes "San Francisco Sourdough" for example. There are also those who believe that by using wild yeasts you end up with a variety of str...

Well my first loaf last night turned out good, but it did not taste really like a sourdough. Whether it was the commercial yeast, too cool of a temperature, or the recipe, I don't know. Gave the starter another day to ferment and will try another loaf tonight.

OH, well that would be certainly easier than whole crushed grapes. I would imagine some of the natural yeasts in the grape (in the skin presumably?) would still be present in the juice. The recipe just called for flour, water, and the crushed grapes, and to remove the crushed grapes after a certain ...

Funk, tax brackets are scaled differently for couples than for singles. You'll likely be in the same tax bracket, possibly even a lower one depending on how your incomes are split now. I was in a higher tax bracket before I got married.

Well, with all the Greek mythology references in the show, it would make sense that Ellen is the highly jealous wife. Ellen serves as the Hera figure, and Hera was known for her petty jealousy and inclination for revenge.
