There's software to do any kind of math you need. I had to take two classes in strength of materials at UofI. It was all calculus and differential equations based. What do you do in the real world? I was afraid they'd drag the mutiny story line out too long and not get to any of the numerous possibilities for other story lines. It almost feels like they didn't drag it out far enough. Pitching Zambrano against the Brewers would help the Brewers. He's been horrible the entire second half and he's probably still hurt. He's not even starting game 1 of the NLDS. Dempster is going to. I'm sure a lot of Mets fans were whining about him not starting any regulars in Saturday's game, too.

The Diamondbacks are the perfect example of a fluke. I seem to recall that they were the only team in the history of the game that made the playoffs having given up more runs than they scored. If not the only team, one of a very select few. It will come down to LA and SD, I think.

$5 million a year is well worth it for DeRosa. He was one of the most valuable members of that team last year. He's a good defensive second baseman and can fill in at 3rd and the outfield when needed, takes a lot of pitches every at bat, and takes walks. Well worth his salary.
