It's weird that VV mostly works for me now but more and more sites seem to be using Cloudflare and the VPN provider I use seems to have a lot of their servers on the 'block list'. I suppose this is how big brother wins the war against VPNs.. Block all their servers from accessing anything. Why have ...
They need to make a nice high budget series with good writing, actors and special effects. Speaking of that.. I watched the 2023 Dungeons & Dragons:Honor Among Thieves movie and I found it quite entertaining. Surely better than the ones they made 20 years ago that I had totally forgotten about....
It looks like civitai made some changes which has broken the model browser in Stability Matrix. At least for me. I don't see anyone else reporting issues though so I'm not sure what's with that. I'm undecided on the new Content Rating system but it's nice that I can now filter out anime and furry (a...
Well there's a shock... The internet was freaking out about nothing. 4 'old' xbox games coming to Switch and PS5: Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Sea of Thieves, and Grounded. That's it. All those xbox fanatics can stop their crying now. But it was quite entertaining for the past two weeks so I'm sad that is...
I hooked up the ole PS3 to play through Spec Ops The Line and yeah... It's hard going back to the past. Even for a game installed on the HDD the load times are lengthy. And, from what I understand, as they used a SATA 2 interface there's no real benefit to adding an SSD from the few videos I've watc...
It is quite amusing seeing the absolute meltdown of the hardcore xbox fanboys at the rumors of some (not all!) previously xbox exclusive games coming to Switch and PS5. They (the xbox zealots) are losing their goddamn minds at something that may not even be true and it is rather entertaining. People...
I never did get around to watching the third Hobbit movie. Someone did release a 4 hour 'Tolkien Edit' of the three combined so maybe I will watch that instead. Even if the quality is a bit on the DVD side.
For years Cloudflare has blocked me while on VPN from accessing this site but has recently started working.
Which is good because my work recently starting blocking this site as it's classified as 'Gaming'. Really? This site hasn't been gaming-related for years.
Looking at previous orders I see I paid $100 for the 2 TB 980 Pro (with heatsink) and now they are $175 so I think I'll hold off on buying two of those like I was planning. I am going to gamble that those will be cheaper than that by the time intel releases their 15th generation CPUs (Arrow Lake) in...
My only other advice is to wait two weeks and see if some of those components go on sale over Black Friday. Buy any SSD stuff soon though as Samsung said they are raising nand prices 20% per quarter over the next 2-3 quarters. At least I believe that’s what I saw reported somewhere. I guess that wa...
There was an issue with those cables when the 4090s came out. The main cause was the connector might not give you enough feedback and people think they were plugged in all the way but they actually weren't. Which was leading to melted/burned cards. So while it was user error for the most part the po...
I still haven't gotten around to playing this. I think I waited because with the first one I finished it right away and then by the time the DLC came out many months later I didn't feel like going back and try to remember how to play it. Now that the DLC is out I'll get to it someday!
I do get the concern about Google abandoning things but I don't see it happening here. A lot of things they give up on have been free products. Once people get into their ecosystem and start spending actual money it will be a lot harder for them to just pull the plug on the whole thing. Maybe I am ...
If you went with the K over the KF then you can at least install Windows and get everything setup while waiting on a GPU. See.. Worth the extra $15 or whatever miniscule amount it is!
I think they have one every year these days. Sadly it's mostly just cut and paste spells with new levels and AAs. At least the last time I looked. Which to be honest has been a few years now.
<t>Look at what is happening in Texas to see why overturning Roe v Wade was a terrible decision. Luckily she had the resources to go out of state for the procedure but I'd imagine 90% of the people can't do that. And now the Supreme Court is reviewing whether to make Mifepristone illegal because, su...
I logged on maybe a year ago now only to find out that Cestus Dei has closed up shop. Sad. But it was limping along for the most part with the co-raiding they had been doing for years with.. Uh.. KoF? It's been awhile so I forgot exactly.
I've only had 1 iPhone, and have had no issue with it, so not really looking to switch. But other than an iPhone I'm not all the invested in the IOS ecosystem, either. Messaging weirdness doesn't matter too much to me. I'm not a fan of Android although I'm sure they work fine for what they are. I do...
Search for 870 EVO and you'll see all sorts of issues with early failures. Also, and not 870 in particular, older files are super slow when it comes to transfer rates. I don't know if that has been resolved with firmware updates but there are things you can do to update your file dates so the system...
I didn't mean content search for Everything. I mean in general. Having an application for that could be nice. I'm sure those exist but I haven't looked into that since I am lazy.
RIP EVGA. I've always, at least since going Nvidia, bought EVGA for my graphics card. No clue who I'll go with now. But I have a couple years before I have to think about that since I won't be upgrading anytime soon. It does seem nice that Intel hasn't killed their graphics cards yet and have been w...
RIP Vita. Sony killed it with their proprietary memory cards. Well I guess the cards themselves weren’t the problem but the price was. They really should have been priced liked comparable SD cards. They also fucked up by not making a local output connector. They could have beat the Switch to market ...
It’s funny rereading this thread seeing how much Winnow is trying to gaslight us (and himself) that Fuse was actually good.
It won’t happen but I’d really like to see Insomniac make/release Overstrike. The game they originally announced before EA got all up in their business.
I don’t know if they ever fixed the PS4 version (terrible UI performance) but I recently went though BL3 on PS5 and had no issues. Even got the Platinum trophy for it. I did give up on the DLC but I might go back to it someday. I also want to try the Tiny Tina Wonderlands game but no real rush on th...
Sounds like Win 12 is on the way sooner rather than later so no reason not to wait and just skip Win11. Unless Win12 ends up being even worse than Win11.
Content search would be great as long as you can exclude (or include) certain directories. Filenames are fine but for me it’s limiting. Regardless it is better than the search in Windows Explorer which is terrible in all aspects.
My 4TB magnetic was split between ai and emulation so I designated the new SSD for ai with the magnetic only having emulation stuff. At some point I may replace that with an ssd. I have been hearing some issues with the 870 EVO though so that is a bit concerning. Hopefully those have been resolved w...
I don’t use many apps so no real reason to upgrade. I’d say as long as batteries are available that’s the better way to go. Unless you don’t care about money then sure buy a new phone every year. Now that I work from home I’ve almost considered ditching a cellphone and going back to dialup. Although...
I did see a single 4090 when I was at microcenter the other day. I didn’t check the price but mc isn’t really known for gouging people so I imagine it was at MSRP.
Well I finally joined the 21st century and got a smartphone. Mostly due to a new job that will involve a lot of travel for the next few months so I figured that would be a good investment. I decided to go with the 128GB 6s for my first phone. <…> I wont be one of those people who upgrade every time...
A few recent upgrades lately but nothing too fancy. All of them have been storage related. Replaced an 8 TB drive with an 18TB. That is basically my Plex drive so I have some room to grow now as I was down to a few hundred GB free. Replaced a 250GB SSD (bought in 2014 for $110) with a 1TB SSD ($53 i...
Jumpman Jr I actually had the cartridge for so I played that a lot. It’s one of the ones I still occasionally play now. Ultimate Wizard is another. I can’t really remember all the ones I liked but I did play Summer (and Winter) Games from Epyx a lot but never could get into Archon. I did play a bunc...
If you did go 4090 that was probably the call as they are starting to see inflated prices now. Which sucks. I thought we were over that sort of thing already. It would seem not!
As for for the power supply I couldn’t say. I’d check max power draw on the cpu and graphics card and go from there.
It seems the pedos have caused a bit of trouble over at civitai. Causing them to lose their image host or something. I can’t say that is surprising considering some of the images I have seen posted there. If you want to generate AI underage images whatever.. it beats you posting actual underage imag...
I haven’t really had time to mess with this stuff at all lately so have just been keeping things updated when newer versions. Luckily Stability Matrix makes it easy to see what packages and models have newer versions. In one of my earlier posts I think I mentioned it didn’t show which installed mode...
Winnow will tell you go AMD but I haven’t researched their stuff enough to recommend that. At the current moment they probably are the better price/performance choice. If you go DDR5 you’ll need a different motherboard. Also that one comes with built in networking so shouldn’t need the networking ad...
I'd highly recommend Automatic1111. ComfyUI is not fun to use unless you like using nodes. Automatic1111 is by far the most used of the Stable Diffusion UIs and thus also has most support on reddit and most extensions etc work with it. I am using A1111. Apparently the official name for that is Stab...
I got bored and started messing around a bit with Stable Diffusion. I am using Stability Matrix which I don't know if that's a branch of Easy Diffusion or not but it seems to work fine. At the moment it is updated quite frequently so that is a good sign. It allows you to browse civitai and install (...
