With all due sympathy for the wives of the Welsh, this raised a chuckle.
Yes I'm going to hell.

A friend of mine played Rugby at our college. He had his ear torn off in a "scrum"? He didn't even feel it because they let the rugby players drink beer on the sidelines. I'd have played if I didn't have such and aversion to pain.

I used to have to play it in school.

It's brutal if your a forward. The people in the 'scrum'. They end up looking like cauliflower eared gorillas after playing a while.

The lighter, swifter backs tend to escape as much harm, except when attacked by an opposing forward, in which ase they get ended.

Bloody Welsh!

I loved playing rugby at school. And I used to play No.8 once I got too tall to be a prop. Actually I think I played pretty much all the pack positions except hooker. Second Row was the worst job except maybe tight-head prop.
Scrummage was easy though. It was the rucks and mauls where the damage got done :D

Twatting some twinkletoed "girl" (the forwards always referred to the backs as "the girls") who should have passed but was showboating was always a very satisfying experience :)

You can see how similar rugby and yankee futbol are though and it's interesting to see how the sports diverged solely due to the single forward pass.
Scrummage = Scrimmage
Forwards = linemen
Backs = backs
Scrum Half = Quarterback
Most of the offside rules are very similar too.

Yes, but by all evidence provided, you 'think' like an ass.

Half the NFL would get pounded if they tried rugby, so it works both ways..

Come on do you honestly expect Warren Sapp (sp?) to keep up with the rest of the rugby players?

Note: I know pretty much nothing about rugby but from what i watched it looks friggen cool.

The World Cup starts this autumn. I suggest you check out a match or two and see if your opinion changes.
