...as the eurozone crisis batters their homeland. (Greece)

Post by Aabidano »

It's amazing seeing the Greeks blaming the Germans, etc.. for the mess they've placed themselves in. It was German, French and other nations' greed that allowed Greece and Italy into the Eurozone in the first place, and further greed by bankers who loaned them money with no realistic expectation of being paid back.

Much like the US banking meltdown; greedy people doing "ought to be illegal" things and screwing millions. With no repercussions, how do you "punish" a corporation or people for something like this? Or even expect them to make restitution?

Greece was relevant to the world about 2,400 years ago.

I read somewhere that there are more Porsche owners in Greece than there are people who make the equivalent of $50,000 / year.

Ran across this story last night and couldn't keep the chuckle down after looking at the chart:

Last chart I saw said the greeks on average worked more hours per year than any other western country, but there was a theory that it was because they have a higher percentage of small business owners that work crazy hours.

The greeks will be alright when they leave the Euro and pay off their debts in worthless dracma :)
