Why in the world would a 7 year old girl being hit by a car make you laugh?

What a nimrod.

First one is funny.

I don't see the humor in the one with the little girl at all.

Asshole.

The second is funny because Ashley Pastor is my sister, and she speeds everywhere. I laugh because it finally happened to her and now she will slow down.
I cry for the kid.

So it's funny that your sister hit a 7 year old girl?

That makes it a freaking gutbuster of a joke.

You do not know my sister...
On reflection that would make it really hard to understand the humor behind her going 50mph in residential and having people for 4 years screaming at her to slow down.
So, Edit, removing that second one.

Yeah, well you don't know my cousin, but if she hit a 7 year old girl with her car, I wouldn't find it funny.

And if your sister is doing 50 in a residential neighborhood, SHE needs to be hit by a car. And everyone has told her to slow down for 4 years? Jesus Christ. Boot to the head time.

There absolutely nothing funny about this. Imagine your kids playing in the yard when the ball strolls into the street about the time your sister turns the corner. If you find humor in this, you're a dipshit, hence Voro's retort.

Pastor was not at fault, police said.
I bet the child's family would love to know that her brother has publicly denounced his sister as being a reckless driver repeatedly warned to slow down while driving through residential areas. I hope they sue.

Honestly Lalanae, it would probably be for the best if they do.

However, the child was reported to be playing in the street for over an hour without parental supervison of anykind, from an eye witness to the event.

My humor stems from the fact that my sister was warned, begged and threatened to slow the hell down, and she never would.
My sister is the type to not take anyone's word for it.
I find it decidedly amusing she choose to learn the hard way.
Regardless, wether she was at fault or not, I do not know, but I can state that the last time I rode in the car with her (about 6 months ago) she was still as reckless as all hell.
However, I do not think it is amusing in the context a little girl got hit. SO please do not misconstrue me on that.

Thats so sad. She's evidently also victim of lousy parenting. I know at age 7 I NEVER got into the street without looking both ways. My parents drilled that into me big-time.

I'm really torn on the issue of whether to let kids play outside without supervision. I know as a kid I was without it most of the time I was outside, but I knew I couldn't go past the next door neighbor's house without permission & not to talk to strangers etc.

Yeah, and the girl is a little sweetheart to.
She was lifeflighted to Oakland due to fears that her ribs were broke and puncturing an internal organ, but she is really fine, for which I am quite greatful.
Again, sorry if I gave anyone the wrong impression. I find my sister's ignorance and stubborness amusing, not the fact that a child was hit by her (Would have helped if I clarified all this from the begining, I know).

hehe, but really, there are some kids in the complex I live at who like to run in front of traffic from between parked cars. Like fucking squirrels they are. You could be doing 5 mph and still hit them. Bakara and I are always bitching about it. I swear I would love to live in a complex that didn't allow kids........or dogs........or musicians.......or single people under the age of 25......or people who have ever known anyone named Bubba....

The kid lived in an apartment complex, and ran out from in front of a parked van into my sisters path.

The kid was playing in the street, running into it and off of it for over an hour. She was in-front of a parked minivan, ran out in front of it and got hit.
As to Cartlas's remark, having been in the car with my sister before, gripping the "oh shit" handle and seeing my life flashing before my eyes, I hope she does too.
She may hve been driving safely and legally when the accident happened. I still contend she is an unsafe driver.

I have a daughter the same age as the one your sister hit. I do not find this amusing in anyway.

You have come across like an asshole, due to your thoughts on the accident. No matter WHAT your intensions were.

Do me a favor; do not respond to this thread again, all you will do is dig a deeper hole for yourself. Just let it die.

Ouch Cid, Sorry to have offended you, but if you want this to die, make sure no one else asks questions.
And frankly, I do not think you would leave your daughter unattended in the street.
But dude, if you think I am an asshole because of this then I am quite glad I barely know you, as I have no desire to now.

I used to drive like a maniac until last week when I spun of the road and hit a tree (no injuries, slight bumper damage, I had it almost under control).

As long as I learn from that...I'm probably a better driver then 99% of the people on the road. I have my 10 yr accident free discount etc...and trust me, people try and hit me all the time...I dodge.

Stupidity kills more people then speed does....by a wide margin. A driver who pays attention, has some skill, and a decent car can easily drive well over the posted speed limit, provided the other drivers weren't absolute morons. But they are.

I now realize speed limit includes factors outside your area of control somewhat. Like that guy who trys to merge on top of your car. Or that drunk who goes onto your side of the road..

....or say maybe if they poured insane amounts of salt all over the fucking road on a tight turn in anticipation of snow later that night.

What I'm trying to say is Acies sister might be an excellent driver. Who had one flaw, speeding...esp in residential areas. But I bet she learned her lesson now. Luckily noone got too hurt.

BTW if you let your 7 yr old run around in the street unsupervised...fuck you. It's more your fault then anyone driving down that road. Be a fucking parent for christs sake. If your worried about people hitting your kids who are playing in the street, log out of Veeshan Vault or EQ or whatever your doing and watch your god damn kids. Hell while your at it teach them how not to be a waste of life....people these days forget you have to raise your own kid and leave it all up to minimum wage earning teachers who don't give a shit. If you don't know what the fuck I'm talking about, your probably one of those kids.

While I agree with you in part Pills, parents need to supervise there kids OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS better. Kids get into trouble OMGIAMRETARDEDCAUSEALOTISTWOWORDS more when ther not supervised. But a child should also be able to feel safe on his own street. Here is the difference.

1. Hitting a person going the speed limit and obeying all the traffic laws= Accident

2. Hitting a person while breaking traffic laws= Manslaughter

I'm really torn on the issue of whether to let kids play outside without supervision. I know as a kid I was without it most of the time I was outside, but I knew I couldn't go past the next door neighbor's house without permission & not to talk to strangers etc.
Last summer I passed through the village where I lived from the ages of 9 til my early 20s and went to visit the street where I lived. In summer when I was growing up the place would be teaming with kids outside having fun. It was a dead-end street so little traffic, everyone knew everyone and you were always in sight of your house or one of your friends'.
When I visited last year it was empty and silent. In summer.
I don't know if it's because kids would rather stay indoors and play playstation or their parents are now so fearful they won't let them outside but it saddened me.
We have greater awareness of issues concerning childrens' safety than ever but I don't believe the actual levels of danger have changed much. The sensible precautions drilled into me in my formative years would hold just as true today.
I just think too many lives are being blighted or stunted by fear, paranoia and neurosis these days. Call me old-fashioned.
Don't worry. Be happy.

/agree vn_Tanc. I don't think the world is a less safer place. The evils of the world are just a little more apparent and people just react too much.

Its sad that children these days don't have the outside play time I had as a kid. Most of my best memories were playing in the front yard, harrassing lizards or toads, riding my Big Wheel and eventually my light blue & while flowered bike, playing with all the neighborhood kids... I think having that freedom of experience means a lot to a kid.

I think it's a sad fact that most parents find it easier to park their child in front of an X-box rather than helping them learn to be more independent and develop the social skills they will most definitely need when the enter the shark pool that is high-school social life.

People are afraid to be accused of anything.
