Tim Russert - Dead 13 Jun 2008

Meet The Press is the only Sunday TV news show that I rarely fail to watch. I've always enjoyed his analysis and commentary, and most of all, his delivery. I'm going to miss him hosting the show.

That's terrible. I always loved watching the show, he was a measured and restrained journalist.

Very sad. He was one of the very very few journalists who did his absolute best to remain unbiased while asking the toughest questions of all his guests. I will miss him dearly.

Re: Tim Russert - Dead 13 Jun 2008
He was a really great journalist and this is definitely tragic...
However it is a sad to see all major news spending 99% of the entire day and night on this story, as if nothing else is happening in the world... all while talking about their hopes that his life and death might inspire some positive introspection within major media "journalists". If they really want to make a tribute to the man's life, have an hour dedicated to the man and get back to reporting the fucking news.

The Supreme court of the United States of America grants habeus corpus rights to Guantanamo bay men and the all the media does is fawning over one of their own. Russert was ok, but this is a joke.

Yes. I posted this as a sad aside to the day's news shortly after it was announced, but the last 24+ hours of near-constant eulogizing has gotten to be a bit much. There's a lot about his life, both personally and professionally, to be admired / remembered, and I've been a big fan of his for years, but this is overkill. I've got to believe that he'd be a bit embarrassed over this fuss if he was able to see it.

Hillary in the newsroom with a candlestick.
Re: Tim Russert - Dead 13 Jun 2008
Anyone else imagine Tim Russert reporting the death himself? Sunday feels weird, I'm glad I got to watch his last Meet the Press.
I'm going to live forever or die trying
Re: Tim Russert - Dead 13 Jun 2008
Meet the press was pretty much my goto must watch every week news show. He was pretty much the only commentator on television who when interviewing politicians was completely unbias and asked both sides the tough questions.
This is truly a loss, I'll miss him.
