I also enjoyed this show a lot. Him getting donkey punched was the funniest thing I've seen in a while, until he found out how old she was!

Good follow up to Weeds.

I prefer to collect albums. I might only really get into one or two songs on an album, but I like to experience the whole thing. Having random, disjointed single tracks just bugs the crap out of me (My wife's music collection makes me nuts in this way). As for MMJ, I've heard them before, but not a lot. Since you mentioned them earlier, I've been exploring more of their stuff, and I've got to say I have no idea why I haven't picked up on them sooner.

Even though he has not been in anything good in a while, I think David D. is the shit. His work in Twin Peaks was stright up awesome, not to mention X-Files. He is a fantastic 'straight-man' and I hope this show takes off. :)

I always thought there was something smarmy about him. Not that I don't think he's hot in his own I'm-not-as-hot-as-I-think-I-am sort of way, but he just reeks sex addict or something mildly perverse to me.

I do want to check out this show regardless.

The bedroom scene was brilliant! :) However, there is a deep sadness and longing portrayed through the imagined car scenes which add so much balance to the show, imo. Touching, really.

Although the excessive amount of nudity is indeed honored and appreciated, it is just a sidebar to some really fantastic writing, directing and acting.

10/10 and I look forward to the next episode. :)

Episode two provided evidence that this series won't be just a string of one liners. It's hard to say how long this show can be sustained but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. I think the balance is there as Canelek mentions but I'd like to see spikes toward the funny side rather than to the 'depressing' or more serious side from here on out.

I was a little worried about episode 3. It started out a little slow but completely redeemed itself with the secretary scenes.

...need to replace my secretary with someone like that!

I think this show will do well for a short run, similar to John from Cincinnati. Might be hard to keep it going for multiple seasons.

This week's episode was great. I'm really liking this show more every episode. It's a pity Weeds isn't good this season to make for a really good hour of TV.

Watched episodes 4 and 5 tonight.

I see no drop off in story quality or entertainment value. Maybe this show does have enough material to handle two seasons.

Showtime seems to have a better record than HBO when it comes to pulling the plug on great shows with loyal fan bases. I'm really glad this show got picked up for another season. Anyone happen to know how many episodes this season will run? I read somewhere that Weeds is expanding to 15 episodes this year from 12 last year and 10 the debut season. I'm hoping that Californication will run for at least 12, but 15 would be pretty groovy.

Maimed nipples are surprisingly funny. The end of the episode was a real kick in the nuts for Hank.

Yeah. That was super sad. Seemed a bit forced too. She normally axudes a pretty mature and reasonable outlook. I thought her comment was a bit dramatic and forced. Oh well. I love this show and finally got the wife to watch an episode. She liked it too.

This episode was more depressing than anything, but it was really good, as usual. Not really sure which direction the show is taking, but I imagine Hank will fuck up somehow so they do not have to change the title.

The last episode was on the downer side although it was a quality show.

I had to look up the character that plays Hank's ex to see what her age was out of curiosity.

December 14, 1971, 35

Hank Moody's (David Duchovny) is set for an X-Files movie sequel as well.

Watched the two most recent episodes tonight.

This show is outstanding.

Squirter!

I haven't laughed so much in a long time, not with just that scene but several times a show. Real laughing, not el oh el laughing.

I like Charlie the agent even more than Ary in Entourage. The interaction between him and Hank is perfect. In fact, the acting of every major member of this show is brilliant. Facial expressions, everything.
[Show]
Mia is starting to turn into a little bitch but you've got to figure it will wind up with the secretary and Mia in bed, causing another situation. Hank will forgive her since he lost the original.

I find it cool that Hank doesn't even mention he lost his only copy of his book to Charlie for an entire episode.

I also like that fact that while people are sleeping all over the place, it's not the end of the world and a relationship breaker.

From the previews, it looks like Mia is going to be drunk at the wedding and maybe confess. Hank will probably think she's going to say something about sleeping with him but from the little talk Mia and Hank's daughter had, it appears she may have second thoughts abotu screwing Hank over.

It's time for the secretary chick to be put in her place though and that would happen if she's exposed for promoting a plagiarizer!
