All of the screenshots you've posted here and in the Vanguard forum are dark Miir. You need to adjust the gamma or use one of the online sites to adjust your picture. All of the ones here look like night shots so it's hard to tell.

Looking at the screenshots reminds me of being a blind human monk in EQ, wandering around Qeynos Hills without a Firebeetle Eye, much less a moonstone!

Why is it that MMOs focus on snazzy environments and ugly PC and monster graphics? The LoTRO PC models aren't too bad, among the better ones, but that.. what is it, a troll? Whatever it is, it's hideous. It looks like it has downs syndrome or something.

And yes Miir, your screens are all very dark. That interface is sadface, but I guess it at least lets former WoW players feel secure and familiar.

A few shots were taken with really low settings because so many people were on screen. These were end of closed beta shots. I do NOT have the High-Res client. If someone has a new PC with the High-Res client, things will look a lot better than these pics.

What the F... I have all my settings turned to high and my graphics don't look anything like that. I was actually thinking the graphics didn't impress me until I saw these screenshots. I'm running in 1280x1024. How you get the graphics to look like that?

p.s. I'm running a 7800 GT also, so should be able to handle high settings.

I know that when I installed from my pre-order disk, I had to choose which version to install. Originally, the hi-res version was only available on the disks, but I think it is also available for download in some places now. I am not at home or able to search the LOTRO Forums, but I believe there are ways to see which version you have in your install directory.

Hrmm, I only have the free world tour atm, so maybe I'm stuck with low rez for now until I pre-order. That could be the reason why theres such a difference in graphics!

I have only the LOW-RES version.

I am running a P4 3.0GHz, with 2 GB Ram Dual Channel on an ABIT ICG-7 Motherboard. Graphics were turned up to Very High ingame and my video card is an AGP Radeon X1950Pro, 512 MB.

I am sure others have way more powerful systems than me, plus add on the High-Res textures and they actually all bump map for more depth on armor and stuff.

I will get High-Res once I get my Retail disks, my download was only Standard-Res.

Okay. I looked on the LOTRO forums. If you have it, you will have client_highres.dat in your LOTRO folder. I don't have it. I ordered a digital download too, so I don't think I get a DVD. I really fucked up on that one.

Best i've seen so far in a MMORPG

Havent seen much from Vanguard tho, just some dark screenies ;(
