--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- World of Warcraft Client Patch 1.12.0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drums of War

Cross-Realm Battlegrounds
- For the first time in the history of World of Warcraft, you will be
able to face off against players from other realms in the
Battlegrounds. PvP Battlegrounds link Alterac Valley, Warsong Gulch,
and Arathi Basin so that players from several realms will be
combined into one huge matchmaking pool. Replenish your mana,
sharpen your blades, and get ready for some brand-new challengers!

World PvP
- The stage is set for intense, objective-based land battles as Horde
and Alliance vie for control over important strategic positions and
resources around Azeroth. Head out for Silithus and Eastern
Plaguelands to engage the enemy on the field!

General
- Threat Reduction Effects
This system has been redesigned to eliminate inconsistency in how
the effects work. Previously, some were additive (for example: 30%
reduction + 20% reduction = 50% reduction) while others were
multiplicative (30% reduction and 20% reduction made 44% reduction,
from 0.7*0.8). They are now all multiplicative. This also prevents
unpredictable behavior when the total reduction percentage was equal
to or greater than 100%. Please note that in almost all cases, when
stacking multiple threat reduction effects you will experience less
threat reduction than previously.
- Haste and Slow effects
Previously Haste and Slow effects worked inconsistently, with spells
working differently from weapons, and hastes and slows not acting as
inverses of each other. We have revised the system so that all haste
and slow effects work the same way, and haste and slow percentages
of the same magnitude perfectly cancel each other out (30% haste and
30% slow combine to no change). As a result, we had to change the
tooltip numbers on all spell haste effects, and on all melee and
range slow effects. The numbers in the tooltips are different, but
the game functionality is unchanged (other than slight rounding
errors). Those tooltips that changed will now display larger numbers
than they used to display. Conceptually, haste values indicate how
much more of that activity you can perform in a given time. 30%
melee haste means 30% more swings in a given time. Slow values
indicate how much longer an activity takes to complete. 30% slow
means an action takes 30% longer to finish.
- The deserter debuff will now continue to expire even while you are
offline.
- Honorable Kills now diminish at a rate 10% per kill rather than 25%
per kill.
- Temporary item buffs (e.g. poisons, sharpening stones and shaman
weapon buffs) will no longer persist through zoning or logging out
due to technical issues. This feature is anticipated to be
activated once more with the expansion.

Druids
- Barkskin: The tooltip has been changed to 25% due to the haste effect
change.
- Cat Form: This form now has an innate threat reduction component.
- Ferocious Bite: Book of Ferocious Bite (Rank 5) now drops off The
Beast in Black Rock Spire. In addition, Ferocious Bite now increases
in potency with greater attack power.
- Furor: This talent now works correctly with Cat Form again.
- Improved Shred: The discounted cost for Shred will now be displayed
correctly even when you are not in Cat Form.
- Rip: Lesser potency Rips will no longer overwrite greater potency
ones.
- Fixed a bug where the incorrect sound was being played by the Claw
attack.

Hunters
- Spirit Bond: This ability will now be correctly reapplied when you
resurrect in a battleground and your pet is polymorphed or otherwise
unable to act normally.
- Improved Concussive Shot: The effect of this talent will now still
be placed on the victim if the hunter is killed before their shot
reaches the target.
- Growl now correctly initiates combat when used by a pet in passive
mode.
- The Ferocity talent now correctly applies to non-physical hunter pet
abilities such as Lightning Breath and Thunderstomp.
- If a hunter has tamed one of the following creature types, they will
no longer potentially change colors if resummoned:
Son of Hakkar - Red
Frenzied Bloodseeker Bat - Brown
Deep Stinger - Red
Dark Screecher - Gray
Cave Creeper - Brown
Bloodaxe Worg - Black
Scarshield Worg -Brown

Mages
- Arcane Missiles: It is no longer possible to cast this spell on an
evading mob. In addition, the animation will now stop when the target
is dead.
- Arcane Power: It is no longer possible to gain the benefit of this
spell and Power Infusion at the same time by careful timing.
- Frost Armor Chilled effect: Due to the haste effect change, the
tooltip has been changed to 25%.
- Ice Armor Chilled effect: Due to the haste effect change, the
tooltip has been changed to 25%.
- Ignite: The effect of this talent will now still be placed on the
victim if the caster is killed before their spell reaches the
target.
- Impact: The effect of this talent will now still be placed on the
victim if the caster is killed before their spell reaches the target.
- Frostbite: The effect of this talent will now still be placed on the
victim if the caster is killed before their spell reaches the target.
- Polymorph: This spell will now be removed when a player leaves a
battleground. This prevents some bugs involving polymorph from
occurring.
- Evocation will no longer be usable while silenced.
- Reduced the number of messages that appear in the combat log when
using Combustion.
- Winter's Chill: The effect of this talent will now still be placed
on the victim if the caster is killed before their spell reaches the
target.

Paladins
- Divine Shield: Due to the haste effect change, the tooltip has been
changed to 100%.

Priests
- Mind Control: Due to the haste effect change, the tooltip has been
changed to 25%.
- Psychic Scream: This spell now uses the same resistance checks as
the Warlock spell Fear.
- Spirit of Redemption: Fixed an issue preventing Twisting Nether from
retriggering when the Spirit of Redemption effect runs out.

Rogues
- Due to significant talent changes, Rogues will have all talent
points refunded and can be re-spent. Training costs for all talent
spell replacements have been significantly reduced.
- Vanish now removes effects that allow the caster to always remain
aware of their target (currently Hunter's Mark and Mind Vision).
- Pickpocket can now be used on targets that are in combat, as long as
the rogue remains stealthed.
- All manner of rogue reagents can be found in locked junkboxes
(obtained from pickpocketing).
- Fixed a bug where the Slice and Dice ability wasn't playing an
animation.
- Lethargy Root has been removed from poison vendors and is now a gray
item.
- Reduced the number of messages in the combat log when using the
Vanish ability.
- Fixed a bug that made Combo Points disappear from your target when
using Vanish.
- Eviscerate: Manual of Eviscerate (Rank 9) now drops off Blackhand
Assassins in Black Rock Spire. In addition, Eviscerate now increases
in potency with greater attack power.
- Garrote: The damage from this ability has been increased. In
addition, Garrote now increases in potency with greater attack power.
- Relentless Strikes: This ability will no longer trigger when your
finishing move does not hit your target.
- Rupture: Rupture now increases in potency with greater attack power.
- Sap: Enemy rogues will now always lose stealth when you Sap them.

Shaman
- Reincarnation should now display the cooldown timer when used.
- Chain Heal - After the initial target is healed, the healing effect
will jump to the most damaged target (by absolute health) within
range. In addition, if a raid member is the initial target it will
look for valid raid targets to jump to rather than non-raid targets
as a priority, making it consistent with group targeted Chain Heals.
- Lightning Shield: Air Bubble pockets in underwater regions will no
longer consume a charge from this spell.

Warlocks
- Cripple (Doomguard): Due to haste effect change, the tooltip has
been changed to 45%.
- Curse of Tongues: This spell will no longer debuff the target if
they are immune to the spellcast slowing effect
- Enslave Demon: Due to haste effect change, the tooltip has been
changed to 40%.
- Health Funnel: This spell will now work correctly on low-level
enslaved demons.
- Howl of Terror: This spell now uses the same resistance checks as
the Warlock spell Fear.
- Siphon Life will now properly gain a benefit from Shadow Mastery.
- A soul shard will be refunded to the caster any time a summoned pet
despawns rather than dies.
- Aftermath: The effect of this talent will now still be placed on the
victim if the caster is killed before their spell reaches the target.
- Improved Shadowbolt: The effect of this talent will now still be
placed on the victim if the caster is killed before their spell
reaches the target.
- Life Tap: This spell now benefits from effects which increase your
spell damage. At rank 3 and above, the base amount of health lost
and mana gained will increase by 80% of your bonus spell damage
effects. Talents and items can further modify those values. Rank
1 and 2 receive reduced effect.

Warriors
- Bloodthirst: This ability will now correctly benefit from attack
power bonuses versus specific creature types.
- Flurry: The text on the tooltip has been corrected to indicate it
triggers on all types of attacks.
- Shield Slam: This ability will sometimes no longer remove more than
one beneficial effect from the target.
- Thunderclap: This ability was left at 10% despite the haste effect
changes. This means its potency has been reduced slightly.

Items
- +30 Spell Damage Enchantment: Fixed a bug with this enchantment
which was preventing it from benefiting healing spells.
- Blade of Eternal Darkness: The triggered effect from this weapon
will no longer occur when the spell being cast has its effect broken
by causing damage.
- Blazefury Medallion: The triggered effect from this item will no
longer break Gouge.
- Bonescythe Armor: The Eviscerate bonus will no longer trigger when
your Eviscerate does not hit your target.
- Darkmoon Card- Twisting Nether: The dialog for this resurrection
will now always reappear after the Spirit of Redemption effect has
completed.
- Earthfury Set: The mana refund effect can now only occur once per
Healing Wave spell cast.
- Earthshatter Set: The Lightning Shield bonus will now be removed if
you lose the set bonus.
- Eye of the Dead: Holy Shock now interacts properly with this item.
- Ranged Elemental Damage: Our ranged combat system does not allow a
ranged weapon to do a mix of Elemental (Fire, Frost, Arcane, etc.)
and Physical damage. Many ranged weapons existed which were listed
as doing Elemental damage and did not function properly (the damage
was dealt, but was treated as Physical). All of those weapons have
been changed to deliver the Elemental damage as a chance on hit
effect. Hurricane was previously changed this way in 1.11. The
following ranged weapons are also fixed in 1.12: Bow of Searing
Arrows, Dwarven Hand Cannon, Heartseeking Crossbow, Dark Iron Rifle,
Galgann's Fireblaster, Quillshooter, Shell Launcher Shotgun,
Venomstrike, and Verdant Keeper's Aim.
- Talisman of Ascendance: This item will no longer trigger from
physical damage effects. In addition, if either of the buffs from
the item are canceled, they will both be canceled.
- Talisman of Ascendance: Holy Shock heals will now trigger the effect
from this trinket.
- Zandalarian Hero Charm: Item tooltip corrected to match the effect
tooltip.
- The Items that summon mounts have been changed in their
color/quality. Items that summon normal mounts are now blue
(superior)items and items that summon swift mounts are now purple
(epic) items.
- Fixed a bug that allowed you to use items which restored health or
mana while you were already full health or mana.
- Fixed a bug with the Jom Gabbar trinket which was causing it to
trigger a category cooldown for a duration longer than intended.
- Wrath of Cenarius: This item will now trigger from Arcane Missiles.
- Clarified the tooltips for the Stormshroud armor and Kalimdor's
Revenge to explain that they deal Nature damage.
- Fixed a bug that caused the Blooddrenched Mask to hide a character's
hair.
- Warbear leather now stacks to 20.
- Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker may now be equipped in
either hand.
- Argent Shoulders no longer require a righteous orb to make.
- The cooldown timer on transforming Anathema and Benediction may no
longer be circumvented by zoning or logging out.

Professions
- Engineering: The damage from sapper charges can now be resisted. The
overall DPS of the charges should not be significantly altered from
what it currently is.
- Engineering: Explosive sheep do fire damage instead of physical
damage.
- Goblin Land Mines and Compact Harvest Reapers will no longer lock
out using other engineering devices until the land mine/reaper dies.
Harvest Reaper was given a 10 min self cooldown to prevent too many
reapers from being summoned at once.

Raids and Dungeons
- Uldaman
Reduced the number of Shadowforge Ambushers that attack after
looting the quest chest.
Shadowforge Ambushers are no longer elite.
The respawn of the Stone Stewards has been changed to 2 hours
(from 30 minutes).
- Zul'Farrak
The respawn of the 2 Troll/1 Basilisk patrollers should now be 2
hours.
Reduced the damage dealt by the Sul'lithuz Abomination and
Sul'lithuz Sandcrawler.
Zul'Farrak Dead Heroes are no longer elites.
Theka the Martyr will now only remain immune to physical damage for
30 seconds before reverting to normal.
Antu'sul's Sul'lithuz Broodlings now only hatch 4 at a time and are
significantly weaker.
Witch Doctor Zum'rah will no longer call as many Zul'Farrak Zombies
to his aid when aggroed.
Weegli Blastfuse now has slightly more hit points.
Antu'sul's Warden no longer attempts to knock adventurers into
Antu'sul's lair.
Sandfury Cretins who engage the party during the pyramid event are
no longer able to cast shadow bolt.
- Maraudon
Noxxious Scions will no longer spawn when you cleanse Celebrian
Vines.
- Ahn'Qiraj
Lieutenant General Andronov's Aura of Command should no longer
generate threat. This will hopefully prevent him from pulling aggro
on the entire wave, leading to his untimely death.
Hive'Zara Hatchlings can now swim.
Egg Explosion will no longer burn charges from spells such as
Lightning Shield.
It should no longer be possible for Emperor Vek'lor and Vek'nilash
to Unbalancing Strike or Arcane Burst immediately after a teleport.

User Interface
- V key functionality has been improved in several ways.
V key now shows summoned monsters (such as the gargoyles in
Stratholme.)
V key now shows both monsters and player enemies.
V now shows enemies only (no longer shows friendly targets.)
Shift-V now shows friendly targets only, not enemies (with a new
bindable hotkey.)
Control-V shows both friendly targets and enemy targets (with a new
bindable hotkey.)
- New floating combat text has been added to the game with a number of
options. You can see when you take damage, when you are healed and
how much, when you acquire and lose auras and much more. You can
turn on the new options in the newly revised options screen.
- There is now an option to turn on the display of your own name above
your head. You can find the option in the interface options screen.
- The Need Before Greed and Group Loot countdown timers will now have a
3 minute countdown when there is a bind on acquire item on the
corpse. This should allow a bit more time in making a decision to
roll for an item.
- Automatic Quest Tracking has been added to the game and is turned on
by default. Any time you advance a quest by advancing one of the
requirements, the quest information will appear on your screen for
5 minutes before fading. You can turn this option off from the
options screen.
- The options screen has be redone and expanded due to space required
for additional options. Also the location of various options has
been changed in the options screen. They should make more sense now,
though they will not be in quite the place you remember them being.
- There is now a confirmation dialogue when you attempt to disband
your guild.
- When you destroy a superior quality (blue) or better item, you will
get a dialogue that has you confirm deletion of that item.
- Raid Pullout frames are now created on demand and will not take up
any memory if you are not using them.
- The player inspect range has been increased to 10 yards.
- New API Functions
Add-ons can send hidden chat messages to players in the party, raid
or guild, using SendAddonMessage("prefix", "message", "PARTY"|"RAID"
|"GUILD"|"BATTLEGROUND"). When players receive these messages, a new
event "CHAT_MSG_ADDON" is sent, with arg1-arg3 being the parameters
to SendAddonMessage(), and arg4 being the name of the player that
sent it. The combined length of "prefix" and "message" must be less
than or equal to 254 bytes.
Added UnitPlayerOrPetInParty() and UnitPlayerOrPetInRaid().

Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug that caused some non-combat pets to be referred to as
Minions instead of Pets. Mini Diablo however has escaped this fate

fails.

swapping an equipped item with another equipped item.
- Stats will no longer fluctuate when putting points into stat
improving talents.
- Devouring Plague will continue to heal the caster after the target
is Mind Controlled.
- Using /assist on a Mind Controlled target works properly now.
- Recasting Feed Pet while using Feed Pet will reset the duration
of the cast.
- Activating passive pet abilities while targeting an opposite faction
player will no longer aggro neutral town guards.
- If a Hunter is unflagged for PvP, an enemy faction rogue won't be
able to disarm his trap.
- Fixed a bug causing the floating combat text from a killing blow
to be delayed until another unit is attacked.
- Text with a scroll bar should no longer get clipped while in
windowed mode.
- Heals from spells such as Frenzied Regeneration will no longer close
the loot window.

pet into passive mode.

They still didn't fix Seal of Command.

Fuckers.

To SoE, this patch would be known as "an expansion".

That is because SOE patches more often than twice a year.

WOW should be getting patches this large weekly based on their subscription base.

Instead you are getting bugfixes that should have happened in beta and upgrades for classes that by far need them the least.

That is because SOE patches more often than twice a year.

WOW should be getting patches this large weekly based on their subscription base.
Here's a breakdown on the updates/patches EQ2 has gotten since the last WoW patch:

*** Player-versus-Player ***

- Evac spells in the Sinking Sands will now return Qeynos and Freeport aligned players on PvP enabled servers to their designated Beach respawn points.

*** Guild Writ Raids ***

- Mother Znedari's adds will no longer continue to spawn after the party wipes.
- Mother Znedari will no longer aggro players that have resurrected in the tower if her adds are out.

*** Items ***

- Fallen Dynasty items with aggro modifying effects will now work again.

*** Zones and Population ***

- Due to recent monopolistic charges brought up against Fizzbang Coghandler, fuels have been moved to the class specific Tradeskill merchants in Haven.
- Repair costs in Haven have been reduced.
- Killing NPCs around the Fear Gate will no longer reduce faction with the Lucanic Knights.

*** Headlines ***

- The influence of the gods of Fear and Valor can be felt permeating through Norrath!
- New mysteries await your discovery in Nektropos Castle: Tribulation!
- Embark on new guild raids to earn status, learn valuable tactics, and gear up!
- Through your noble efforts (or dirty deeds), unlock access to blackmarket fences on PvP servers!
- Your leaders have ordered new maps scribed for both cities’ adventure yards!

*** The Hand of the Gods ***

- The influence of the gods grows stronger on Norrath as the prophets of Valor and Fear call upon the faithful for assistance.
- Meet Sir Bayden Cauldthorn, Knight of Valor, in the Commonlands near the entrance to the Freeport Graveyard.
- Danak Dhorentath and the minions of Fear have excavated an ancient cave in the Feerrott, near the Temple of Cazic-Thule. Even the bravest adventurer may gasp when setting eyes upon the terrors within this long-lost cavern.

*** Nektropos Castle: Tribulation ***

- Whispers abound of strange occurrences near Nektropos Castle. Some claim to have heard the spirit of Lord Everling himself calling out.
- Rumor has it that recent earthquakes have uncovered burial chambers near this haunted ruin. Perhaps exploration of one such unearthed crypt near the castle could reveal more information.
- Venture through Nektulos Forest to Nektropos Castle and unravel the mysteries... if you dare!
- This new journey through one of our most popular landmarks is intended to provide a challenge for a full group of level 70 characters.

*** City Guild Raid Revamp ***

- Guild raids offered by the cities have been completely redesigned to teach some of the fundamentals of raiding, as well as providing a fun way to earn guild status.
- Each raid is intended for two groups and will scale according to your raid's level.
- Progressively conquer a series of raids that will help you learn new tactics, as each involves new challenges not encountered in the previous raid.
- The raids must initially be done in sequence. In order to advance to the second raid, you must complete the first; to get to the third, you must complete the second; and so on. After completing all five new raids, you will be able to go back and undertake them again in any order.
- Defeating the bosses in these raids awards guild status. In addition, item rewards for defeating the bosses vary based on your level range.
* Up to level 50, bosses drop rare tradeskill harvests, recipe books, and spell scrolls.
* Above level 50, bosses have a chance to drop armor molds or patterns.
- Armor molds and patterns indicate whether they can be made into cloth, leather, chain, or plate armor. Examining the mold/pattern gives a quest. Upon turning the item in to a Quartermaster, you can choose a piece of armor suitable to your class.
- There are two different levels of molds and patterns that drop: one from bosses around 50 to 60, and the other from bosses that are around 60 to 70.
- The resulting armor is of Legendary quality and is intended to be basic gear useful for those starting to raid more challenging targets. It provides good stats and resists rather than fancy item effects.
- To undertake these new adventures, combine two groups into a raid and speak with City Registrar Glamis in Freeport or Royal Accountant Fowler in Qeynos. They will direct your raid members to the portal mages standing near the doors that will take you to your destination.
- Note: A single raid can have some members enter from Qeynos and others from Freeport. As long as at least one raid member in each city has the same quest, raid members in both cities should enter the same instance.

*** PvP Fences ***

- You can now work for your side to employ fences (brokers carrying goods from the opposing city) in the Commonlands or Antonica, or get rid of a fence from the opposition's territory.
- To banish the enemy's fence, you must either kill its guards or complete your own fence quest.
- Ifrit Jankus of East Freeport and Banderspark of Qeynos Harbor are seeking assistance from players to reinstate the operations of G`Thal and Fuddlesprock.
- Note that you must be level 10 or above to interact with the fence.
- This is the first quest in EverQuest II that requires you to kill other players!

*** Maps ***

- By order of Queen Antonia Bayle, adventurers are hereby supplied with maps to the yards around the city of Qeynos. These include Oakmyst Forest, the Caves, the Peat Bog, and the Forest Ruins.
- Not to be outdone, the Overlord has commanded that maps be scribed for the Graveyard, the Sunken City, the Sprawl, and the Ruins.

*** Player-versus-Player ***

- Fallen Dynasty items with aggro modifying effects will now function properly in PvP combat.
- Additional respawn points have been added to the following 40+ zones: Everfrost, Lavastorm, the Feerrott, the Sinking Sands, Tenebrous Tangle, the Barren Sky, and Bonemire.
- The effects of the Unity Band will now trigger off other damage types besides cold based spells.

*** Quests ***

- The Narin Heirloom quest has been fixed. V'Tal's brother can once more be found in Fallen Gate but he is no longer triggered and not in the same spot he once was. The level of the quest has been increased, it is now heroic, and a reward has been added.
- "Tablets of the Blademaster" quest helper text should now be more descriptive.
- The Glowing Black Stone heritage quest should now accept either a palladium bangle or a pristine fashioned palladium torque.
- Residents of Beggar's Court who had completed the "Big Trouble..." quest and stopped talking to Durio Dexus should now be offered his next quest after speaking to him.
- There are some new quests available in the Commonlands for curious adventurers. Speak with Springview Healer Hanif or Tiff Squeelunkle for more information.

*** Items ***

- Mastercrafted (rare tradeskilled) Armor, Weapons, and some treasured items have had an increase in mitigation and damage values applied to them.
- You must now be level 60 in order to use Volatile Fluid from the Halls of Fate.
- Relic patterns will now drop in fabled chests.
- Chirurgeon's Scalpel is now piercing instead of slashing.
- Grotrot the Flayer is now piercing.
- Ardevaas the Render now has a weapon type.
- The deflection on the Tom of Dark Knowledge has been changed to disruption.
- The Signet of Replenishment now replenishes power when low on/out of power
- Tranquil Wind Bracers are now cloth rather than leather.
- The food and drink sold at the Drednever Expedition in the Bonemire should now be of the appropriate level.
- Clawed Basilisk Boots should now proc properly.
- Chiller Bombs should now hurt their targets instead of heal them.
- Hex dolls now use Magic resistance instead of Heat to determine success chances of landing on target.
- Hex dolls that decrease resistances or attributes were adjusted to scale appropriately for their level.
- The Sergeant's Scimitar should now work properly for those who can wield it.
- Dragonhide Tomes are now equippable at level 62.
- Harvesting Tools will no longer spam you when you zone or unequip them.
- Cobalt Reverent Boots now have the correct appearance.
- Harvesting Tool buffs no longer stack.

*** Zones and Population ****

- Zone reuse timers are being modified to have greater consistency. Reuse timers will now follow these guidelines:
* Small solo zone: No fail timer | 4 hour success timer
* Large solo zone: No fail timer | 8 hour success timer
* Group zone: No fail timer | 18 hour success timer
* Small raid zone: 8 hour fail timer | 3 day, 20 hour success timer
* Large raid zone: 12 hour fail timer | 5 day, 20 hour success timer
- Pets should now be able to once again attack Chieftain Merzog in Fallen Gate if he hasn't moved from the spot he initially appears.
- A number of mobs associated with dynamic camps (ring events) in Tenebrous Tangle have been made uncharmable to prevent certain situations that may break the events.
- Mobs associated with dynamic camps in Everfrost (such as Bloodhorn and Webclaw's events) have been made no-charm to reduce the possibility of the events breaking. This has also been applied to "the Prophet" dynamic camp in Sinking Sands.
- After building the store of eggs needed for training the griffon tamers and griffons have moved into their towers within the Thundering Steppes and Nektulos Forest.
- Velociraptors should no longer use stealth.

*** Tradeskill Revamp ***

- All of the tradeskill recipes in the game are moving to a "no sub-combine" system. In order to improve the availability and reduce the tedium of the tradeskill system, we are removing refine and interim recipes from the game. Instead you will be able to craft final combines with just raw components. It will now take less time to craft a cup of coffee in game than in your kitchen!
- Tradeskill-related harvestables now have a chance to give multiple items in a single harvest. As your skill increases over the maximum skill for that 10 level range, you increase your chances at getting rares and multiple item harvests.
- New harvesting tools are available that reduce the time it takes to harvest. Speak with your local woodworker to acquire these items.
- Crafted items will now be referred to either as Handcrafted or Mastercrafted, the latter of which denotes rarer items.
- Newly crafted items will often have different stats or effects. Note that existing crafted items will not change, just items crafted using the new recipes.
- Crafted potions and poisons will be now will follow a uniform pattern in naming and effects, which should make their functionality easier to identify quickly.
- Level 50-60 rare carpentry recipes have been added to the game. You might be seeing some of your favorite requested furniture pieces that are no longer sold on merchants.
- Due to rising economic pressure from the larger crafting guilds such as the Ironforge Exchange and the Coalition of Tradesfolke, the smaller societies within the districts and villages have consolidated their operations in order to continue to compete.
* Players can now enter any of the tradeskill instances at any time.
* All your tradeskill society status you have ever earned (not just in your current society) has been converted into personal status points (this will not add status to your guild).
- With the new changes to recipes no longer requiring subcombines, the cities of Freeport and Qeynos have been forced to do inventory and sell or reforge many of their overstocked supplies. Until this is finished, they will not be giving out any new work orders for crafted items. Both Lucan and Antonia apologize for the inconvenience this may cause some business owners and thank you for your patience until this matter is resolved.
- The tradeskill trainers have been moved outside each of the tradeskill instances. These trainers will give new crafters their initial training and first set of recipes if they did not learn their skills on the Outpost of the Overlord or the Queen's Colony before sailing to the city.
- Harvested items that are no longer used in recipes can be used in place of raw components.
- All interim and refined components can now be used in place of raw items.
- Merchants outside each tradeskill instance will sell recipe books for all artisan classes. The recipes that appear will depend on your selected tradeskill and level.
- You will no longer fail to find something when you harvest in an area that is trivial to you.

*** Betrayal and Exiles ***

- Players can now betray their city at any time after level 10.
- You will now slowly work your faction up with the city you are betraying to (or back to the one you originally betrayed) in order to be accepted within the city walls.
- Until such a time as you are accepted as a citizen of Qeynos or Freeport, you will be an Exile and must only operate out of a new underground location known as Haven.
- Haven does not provide the plush lifestyle of Qeynos or Freeport--You'll miss out on some of aspects of the city life such as writs, full use of brokers, player housing (apart from Maj'Dul), or city-based rewards.
- Note that all characters, whether they change their class or not, will have their spells set back to the Apprentice I level after betraying.
- Qeynos betrayers should begin their journey with Spockfuddle near the fence in Qeynos Harbor.
- Freeport betrayers should begin their journey with Izzay Meestere in West Freeport.

Player-versus-Player Server Exiles:
- If a player on a PvP server does not belong to either Freeport or Qeynos (i.e. they are in the act of betrayal), they will become an Exile.
- Exiles have their own language: Argot. Communication rules are the same as the other alignments.
- Upon betraying, Exiles receive an unchangeable suffix title of "the Exile."
- Exiles forgo all PvP city rewards once they betray.
- Lucanic Knights/Royal Antonican Guard faction, as well as infamy/fame and titles are wiped as soon as you betray your city.
- Exiles are open to attack by players regardless of the zone they are in or their level. You will only find protection within the caves of Haven.
- An Exile can attack citizens of Freeport, Qeynos, and even other Exiles.
- While you are encouraged to hone your skills on the battlefield against those of your ranks, you will only receive rewards for killing members of the opposing alignments. These rewards are limited to title modifications when appropriate, experience, and coin/item drops.
- While Haven may seem like a convenient place, there is a price to pay for seclusion. Prices from the merchants are significantly higher, and Exiles do not have access to shared bank slots.
- Exiles wishing to travel to the Sinking Sands will need to sneak into the docks of either Freeport or Qeynos and catch a ride on one of the carpets.

*** New Consignment System ***

- The new consignment system has arrived!
- You may now list items for sale even if you do not have a home. To do so, speak with your local broker and go to the Sell tab.

- The Buy tab allows you to search for and purchase items.
* You can perform a simple search by typing in a name in the Search input box.
* You can perform a more specific search by clicking the Advanced button and selecting various options.
* Once in the Advanced tab, you can click the Save button to save a custom search, which is accessible via a drop-down box on the main Buy page.
* To purchase a single item, click the Buy button. You can also buy a specific number of items with the Buy Quantity button or a full stack of an item with the Buy (x) button.
* Items can be examined via the Examine button or in the right-click context menu.
- The Sell tab allows you to list items for sale.
* To sell items from this tab, drag a bag or box into a free slot, then drop items within the bag to sell them.
* If you drag a container that holds items to the market window, all items within will be added to the Sell area.
* Items will automatically be set with a price, though they will not be up for sale until you list it for sale. This price is the maximum you could possibly get from an NPC merchant, and can be used for quick price reference.
* You can change the price of an item by clicking Set Price, list it for sale by clicking List Item for Sale, or remove it by clicking Remove Item.
* You can right click an item and choose Search to find the item if listed by other players.
* To receive coin from items sold out of a specific bag, click the Take Coin button. Coin will always need to be retrieved through this process.
- The Sales Log will show items you have sold as well as coin gain per session and coin gain from all time.
- More slots will open up in which you can place containers depending on the type of home you own. A better house means more slots that you can sell from.
- Item stacks will count as a single item in terms of the space it takes in your consignment container. For example, if the maximum number of items in a stack is 20, 20 of those items will take up one slot in the container.
- The house vault is now independent of the consignment system, and is used for item storage.

*** Norrathian Exploration ***

Nektulos Forest
- Mysterious changes have occurred in Nektulos Forest--it seems like an evil intent is awakening.
- Strange new creatures have been found stalking the woods and the Freeport Militia has established new outposts to pacify the region.
- Outsiders beware! Though the Militia is doing its best to keep trade routes clear, the malicious nature of the forest is unforgiving to the heedless.
- Nektulos Forest has improved population and less barriers to travel.

The Commonlands
- The Bloodskull orcs have regrouped their forces, pulling back to consolidate and build fortifications.
- The Blackshield smugglers have recently stepped up their operations in the Commonlands.

- Once the trade has been made, you cannot trade back to the old appearance.

Fuckers.

To SoE, this patch would be known as "an expansion".
That is because SOE patches more often than twice a year.

WOW should be getting patches this large weekly based on their subscription base.
Here's a breakdown on the updates/patches EQ2 has gotten since the last WoW patch:

Some prick decided he was cool for posting long-ass patch notes in a thread...no, in a forum it didn't go in.
I think I am more worried about the fact you bothered to copy and paste all of that bullshit more than the fact that you wasted everyone's time by posting it in this thread/forum.

Took me less than 2 minutes to find it, copy it and paste it.

Looking at all the updates EQ2 has gotten compared to WoW was actually pretty surprising. Blizzard has been getting a lot better at pushing out updates but man, I didn't think they'd still be so far behind EQ2s team.

Yeah but WoW hasn't needed the same number of updates as EQ2. It hasn't had to rebalance the classes twice, or revamp combat and spellcasting umpteen times, or the exp system, or the mob conning system.
It also hasn't had to implement loads of features copied from a superior product in order to remain competitive (if having 5% of the playerbase of WoW can be called that) - in-game mails, PvP, nonmasochistic tradeskills etc.

I give it a 5, you made many thinly veiled insults, but there's far too much fact in your post. Perhaps you can search the CE forum for posts by Midnyte, Metanis, et al for some tips on stating opinion as fact, fact as opinion, and logic as heresy.

It hasn't had to rebalance the classes twice, or revamp combat and spellcasting umpteen times,
Update 13 (almost a year ago) was the big combat revamp. That was the only big update to combat and spellcasting. There has been a few class updates and tweaks since then.... no more or less than WoW really. Virtually every class in WoW has undergone a massive overhaul/update/rethink since release.

or the exp system, or the mob conning system.
The XP system hasn't changed. It's been adjusted to make soloing a bit faster but that's about it. And the conning system hasn't been touched in over a year and a half.

It also hasn't had to implement loads of features copied from a superior product in order to remain competitive
How is that a bad thing when devs take good features from another game an implement them in their own? At least the EQ2 devs aren't stubbon, arrogant and pig-headed like the WoW devs.... How long have they been sticking to those retarded meeting stones. Or what about implied targeting... how fucking difficult would it be to add that to WoW?

You talk about copying a superior product... WoW wouldn't be what is is today without copying EQ.

You know with the possible upcoming change in raid size, maybe Blizzard devs are actually getting a fucking clue and looking at good features from other games.

superior product
If popularity was an accurate indication of quality.... can I ask how many N'Synch and Mariah Carey records you own? Because they are obvoisly making the best music on the planet. Any why did you waste so much time playing EQ when Lineage was clearly the superior product at the time.

I don't follow.

Warcraft was a RTS.
EQ is a MMOG.
WoW is a MMOG.

How exactly did EQ copy Warcraft?

And Warcraft copied Warhammer quite heavily.

There hasn't been an original idea in a long long time.

How quickly you forget the EQ RTS which was a carbon copy of WC3...

Sony lost the MMORPG war. Sorry you're so pissed off about it, but I really don't need to have your vagina bleeding all over the WoW forum everytime we have an active post. Go cry in the EQ2 forum, it could use the post count.

Who cares about the EQ RTS. It was garbage.

When and by whom was the MMOG war declared?
There is room for more than 1 MMOG in the market. There are a large number of MMOGs with a subscriber base in the hundreds of thousands and there a even a few in the millions. Competition is good.

I like EQ2 because despite the fact that (according to you guys) it's a miserable failure, they still manage to employ an awesome dev team that patches and improves the game in a timely manner... adding content and requested features. Pushing out new content in adventure packs and expansions... for a game with a monthly income 4% of that of World of Warcraft's.

What the fuck is Blizzard and Vivendi doing with all that fucking cash that you are paying them every month? Patches and content are coming out at a snails pace... almost 2 years and no expansions... a dev team that rarely (if ever) posts on the forums regarding specific game related issues. On the EQ2 forums we get posts from coders, designers and any number of folks on the dev team. I've even seen artists respond and make changes as a result of player questions about the appearance specific items.

Don't you guys think you deserve more from Blizzard than the shit they have been forcing down your thoats for the past 18 months?

Summary: You like EQ2 better than WoW and always want to enlighten those that have fallen under the Blizzard's evil spell.

THANKS I WAS UNSURE OF YOUR OPINION BECAUSE I'VE ONLY READ IT ON THE WOW FORUM ABOUT A BILLION TIMES.

Go away from here.

At least Winnow tends to stick to his own threads when ranting about the Zen, Phoenix sports, and Copernic...

I wish that I could ignore miir in just this forum. It's like he channels the spirit of Corky and Andy Rooney's love child every fucking post he makes here.

If they made a MMO in the Battletech Universe I'd drop all the other games in a heartbeat.

There have been at least two or three that I can think of that had been in development in the past. One was by Atari and another by EA (I think). Neither made it very far into the beta stage (if they even made it out of alpha). I think the EA one showed the most promise even though the graphics were still very dated at the stage I was participating in.

If I won the lottery in a big way I'd pay to have this game created. I'd have to be in a big way though. As it is I can't even win the $2.00 I put into it each week.
