You know growing up

Scotty as a character and the old MacGuyver TV show both strongly influenced me to become an engineer.

couldn't they just lock him in a transporter buffer loop until Geordie can clear up the signal?

Relics, season five.

You're talking to someone Shaerra would loath. Whatever afterlife there is, this guy is going to it. I remember a story about Doohan hearing about a fan of his that had a very bad health condition, so Doohan took on his medical costs and helped the kid out. He was a class act, on and off the show. He will be missed by Trek fans around the world.

did anyone read his autobiography? the whole cast of OST intrigues me so I think I've read them all. nimoy's second was probably the most insightful, doohan's was easily the most entertaining. it might as well have been calls "400 pages of why william shatner is an asshole"

he was good in his role of scotty though. it's always good to see a typecast actor enjoy his role, and realize that he is blessed to have what he has in the entertainment industry, instead of being cranky and squandering it like brent spiner.

Considering the original Star Trek series ran 1966-1968, 99% of us on this board probably didn't see this series first run. The original will always be best for mostly the same reasons the original Star Wars trilogy are by far the best...character development. You just can't beat Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Chekov, Sulu and Uhura. I never cared how bad the sets were in the original because the acting, as over dramatized sometimes as it was, carried the show.

Someone edit out the white chick! She's not part of the super seven!

doohan was way handsomer than shatner in the original series. he should have scored more green alien poon than he did.

deforest kelley and jimmy doohan were my two favorite trek characters. now they are both dead. this is depressing.

You want to remove Nurse Chapel aka Counsellor Troi's mom aka the computer voice aka Majel RODDENBERRY from the show?

I always wondered how come Shatner got all the chicks. How do you compete with a hard-drinkin Scotsman? I guess it's good to be the captain...

Every night growing up from the time I was like 4 yrs old until... damn probably sometime in Jr. High I watched Benny Hill then the Original Star Trek on Channel 11 in Fort Smith. I loved all the character but Scotty always held a special place "she can' take much more captn'"
