Just wanted to point out Aslanna's thread in the EQ forum to those that haven't seen it. I'd put *FF* on this thread, but that wouldn't really be in the spirit of our former home...

I think the main thing is the choice of name. I totally understand that they need to consolidate. I think it's good for whatever remaining customers they have. However, I think taking the old name is a far better idea, and I think naming anything after one of the worst pieces of software I've ever seen released (Luclin), is a horrible, horrible travesty.

I'm also sorry to see a server where we all had so much fun both with each other and at each other's expense get shut down.

Truly a sad day.

I recommend veeshan players either quit EQ or refuse to use their server forums. As a side note, while I don't play, i'd love to get involved on some petition to make the new server keep the Veeshan name.

Maybe get one of those online petitions rolling?

Kilmoll could have introduced the Luclin guilds to how the Ring War spawn works.

No you jacktastically inept clownboat. What happened on Veeshan when we were playing was progress. Everything good that you have come to know and love about EQ can be chocked up to a big thank you to those people that played on Veeshan.

Er no, Noel, I was playing on one of the original servers from beta. I don't see ANYTHING outstanding to distinguish Veeshan from the rest of the original servers. Luclin is an ok server. So are all of them. If you don't like it just pick up the free transfer and go to the Rathe or somewhere. No ones MAKING you stay on Luclin if you don't want too. Personally I will be glad to see you all. Will make for more grps and more progress.

Well you are simply being transferred to a server that's more popular than yours /shrug. At least on Rathe you would have some impact, since they have a strict rotational system on all mobs (haha) so you could get your juvie little rocks off disrupting that. Hey dumbass, how long you been playing EQ? a week or two? got a char off ebay a few months ago?... In the hayday of EQ (read: Everything pre PoP) there were more server firsts on Veeshan than any other server... sure Triton had a few, AL had a few... but almost every other one happened on Veeshan... most of the people that read this board played EQ from day 1 (March 16th 1999) to a year or two ago... (read: post PoP)

Thats the reason people here are pissed... Veeshan had more noteriety than any other server in EQ history... destroying the server name is a kick in the face by SoE... and hopefully I can get my account deleted in the process of proving that to SoE
