Arch,

Often the actions of a leader(current administration), confuse the peons(us). Your confusion and fighting and bitterness remind me of the way many teenagers act when their parents make decisions. They are just incapable of understanding. But they think they know everything and their parents are so stupid and they talk back and are incapable of understanding no matter how many times the parent explains it to them.

It really is quite humorous watching you and your kind flap around in the deep end of the grown up world.

Kyoukan, there is no way you can even begin to say that ANYONE in office would have prevented 911 from occuring, unless Clark fucking Kent stepped through a worm hole to run from office that is.

Presidents have wide ranging powers to act without a declaration of war, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon all abused it while in office (For those counting that is 2 dems and a Rep). Findlaw has a great article speaking of Presidential war powers at http://writ.news.findlaw.com/dean/20010914.html.

If Clinton truly believed that there was a serious threat he could have taken almost any action up to but not including a delcaration of war to fix the problem. He chose to go with popularity over responsibility.

Now I am not saying Bush2 is a good guy or a great President, but Clinton was utterly irresponsible on a World level for his entire 8 years.
