I ended up getting it. $5 is a decent price. It's not bad but I'm not sure I can see myself playing it very long once I unlock all the modes and finish the achievements (12). The control at higher speeds is too fast for me but that might just because I am getting old. At least I figured out you can move in advance. That is if you push right (or whatever direction you want to go) while going up Pac Man will take the first right he comes to so you don't have to be precise right at the moment for turning. It's still fast!

I don't know how it compares to the non-DX version as I don't recall ever playing that.

I got this a while back, but got frustrated trying to compete with my cousin who is in the top 100 on the leaderboards and quit playing it. Lol.

I played it for a few hours so far. I've probably already gotten my moneys worth. This is a no-brainer of a deal if one has a 360 and doesn't have the game already. I guess there is a demo if one needs to try before they buy but I didn't bother due to all the decent reviews.

Have I ever mentioned how much I fucking hate Gamestop? The chain is like McDonalds. No matter where you go, it's always the same. Gamestop employees are all ignorant assholes, they put 6,000 stickers on every fucking thing in the store, they take new games out of the plastic and then shit up the case with even more stickers, and lets not forget a million questions at the register. "Do you want to pay 3$ for disc insurance?" "Do you want to preorder anything?" "Do you want a game guide with that purchase?" I fucking hate that place with a passion.

Here's how my conversation went:

Me: "You have all of the sale stuff grouped together, but you have the DJ Hero 2 bundle on the other side of the store"

Asshole employee (annoyed): "That's because it's not on sale"

Me: "I have a link listing all your sale games, and it's listed for 29.99$. Everything else on my list is over here in you sale area, are you sure the DJ Hero 2 bundle is not part of your sale?"

Asshole employee (Laughing like a douche): "Well, your link is wrong. Besides, if it were on sale for 30$ I think someone else would've pointed it out by now"

Me: "Humor me and check please"

Asshole (even more annoyed he had to walk over to the other side of the store to get the bundle): "It's not on sale dude, but I'll scan it if it will make you happy"

Asshole (shocked after scanning): "Huh"

Me: :)

He didn't say another word about it. I hate that place.

I usually hate all gamestops, but the one nearest me has been run and employing folks of similar ilk to all of us. not sure how that's their job, must be a second job for most, but they actually don't mind helping.

I bought castlevania and GTA4 for 360. I actually meant to by castlevania for PS3, but after playing it a bit, I'm glad I bought it for 360 due to the controls/controller difference.

Since the sale is like all month, I'll go back for more later, probably.

Lesson learned hopefully for that guy.

I'd guess Gamestop employees are as bad as Best Buy or Fry's Electronics employees. They're mostly dumbasses but the majority of the people they deal with are also dumbasses which makes their job worse.

I don't dwell on it. I assume from the start that they are clueless and do my own research. They're low pay sales people. I wouldn't give a shit either if I worked there. The only time it becomes an issue is if you need to correct them on price or something which is what Fair ran into.

The problem is the upper management only caring about subs and reserves, they could give fuck all about sales and customer service.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow - $29.99
I will wait for that to hit $20. I'm sure it's a good game and all I just don't want to spend $30+ on another God of War type game.
Majin the Forsaken - $14.99
I assume by that they mean Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom. I will give that a go though for $15. It got about average reviews but eh... How bad could it be.

Not much else looks appealing. Blur for $20 but in the time since it came out I decided I didn't want to bother with it or Split/Second.

I wish they had more race titles in this sale. I'm not really interested in Blur. So far, Castlevania is most definitely another god of war game. I was hoping for it to be more...well, konami, but its not. Its just GoW in a different skin. I just wish the "levels" were more like SotN, with save points and all that jazz, but its not. They are points on a map, with % completions and shit like every other game out. Its well done though, and patrick stewart voice overs make it worth the 30 if you're into hack n' slashers.

How far have you gotten in it? I thought it was nothing more than a GoW clone as well until about the 3rd or 4th stage. The areas are extremely varied (and change often) and the combat has a couple of noticeable layers of complexity later on as well. It sure is a damn good looking game to boot! Kind of a long for an action game though...

I'm not far. I went to GTA4 instead for now, its more fun for me.

It does look ridiculously long for an action game. GoW3 and it share so much though, like the weapons mechanics and combo mechanics. It feels almost identical. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, I just liked SotN because of all the RPG elements and wish this had some.

Amazon has some good deals on Band games.

Rock Band 3 21$
Latest Guitar Hero 27ish
Lego Rock Band 17$
Band Hero 9$
Guitar Hero Smash Hits 15$

And others...those were all I bought. I have all of them now. Combined with my recent purchase of DJ Hero 1&2 and I think I'm set for band games for the rest of this generation.

Trying to decide if the 6-8 songs I really want to play in Rock Band 3 make it worth $21, or if I should wait longer.

I bought DJ Hero but returned it. I like rap music, not rap music fused together with other music that I don't like (HATE any kind of dance/trance/whatever music). If Scratch! The Ultimate DJ ever actually comes out, that will be much more my style.

I forgot to post but Best Buy had the Sly Collection for $20 so I picked that up last Sunday. It's no longer available online at the Best Buy site but you might be able to find some in stores still. I'm not sure how long that price was going might be over now. Good value for money if one likes platform type things. I think it went Greatest Hits so even at the new regular price of $30 it's still pretty good. I finished the first one and started the second one on PS2 but I don't think I ever finished it.

If only the PS2 Ratchet & Clanks would get the HD/Trophy treatment. I'm sure they can easily fit all 4 on a Blu-Ray. Not sure how well that would work out though since 3 and 4 had some online components so maybe that portion of it just wouldn't work. I 100%d them a couple years ago but would play them again even though some of those skill points were a pain to complete.

InFamous is $10 at Best Buy online with local pickup. Which is a decent price if you don't mind the hideous red case. The game was alright but I don't see why it got all the hype it did.

Yeah. I already got that one for 360 when it was $5. Was good for a few hours on entertainment.

$7 for non-Plus members isn't the greatest though. It seems like + prices used to be the 'normal' sale prices but they raised that for non Plus members by adding that additional layer.

Oh also Burnout Paradise and all DLC is available on PS3 for $8 in the PSN store this week. That's a good value although I'm not sure how active the online community is these days. But even single player you'd get your moneys worth for $8.

I love all of the PixelJunk games, especially shooter and Eden. I'd recommend trying them miir, they aren't really long games but they are tons of fun.

The only PixelJunk game I've ever tried was Monsters on the PSP.
I didn't really like it.

I'll grab Shooter2 when I get home.
Even if I don't like it, $5 isn't much of a risk.

Dude.. DUDE.. Fucking play Eden! That game is all kinds of awesome!! It's a fun, relaxing game to play, but still challenging, cool level design/artwork, and cool soundtrack. You're really missing out on that one. I still pick it up from time to time and clear a couple levels.

Sale might be over now!

I think there might be a demo of it also. Or maybe the first one. I haven't actually played 2 yet. Just wanted to grab them before sale was over. The first PJS was decent . Fairly easy , not overly long, although limited replayability once you finished. Apparently 2 is a lot of the same.

I wasn't a big fan of Monsters myself. And Eden was annoying as heck for me every time you missed grabbing the vines or whatever during a jump when you're way up high you usually end up falling all the way to the ground then have to work your way back up. I just gave up after awhile as it because too frustrating which I think is the opposite of what the game was going for.

lrn2ply! ;)

I still have moments like that from time to time, but to be honest, it usually works out, because you can open up the seeds for a different path on your way back up. Playing that game is always really relaxing for me. I think I've got 100% completion on the first 5 or 6 pods, not sure.. I will definitely finish that game though. Probably my favorite downloadable game for the PS3 so far.

I should still be able to get the sale price as I'm usually home by 5.

Some seemingly decent preorders on Newegg.
* Gears of War 3 pre-order (Xbox 360) for $59.99 - $15 off code EMCKBKF86 = $44.99 with free shipping.
* Forza 4 pre-order (Xbox 360) $45 with code EMCKBKF87
* Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception pre-order (PS3) $48 with code EMCKBKF88
* Rage: Anarchy Edition pre-order
o PS3 $48 with code EMCKBKF89
o Xbox 360 $48 with code EMCKBKF92
o PC $48 with code EMCKBKF93
I guess the only thing to consider is that ordering from Amazon instead would get you release date delivery. I think Amazon also has a $20 credit for GoW3 which might be a better deal if you'll be buying more games and for Uncharted they have some pre-order bonuses. Whether they are worth $15 or not.. Dont know!

Eh.. Maybe. But at least for your money Sony actually seems to be giving worthwhile shit. The Xbox Deals of the Week have been HORRIBLE lately. It's all DLC shit. wtf cares about DLC. Oh well saves me money.

I ended up ordering Uncharted 3. $48 seems like a decent price although $40 would have been nicer but I don't expect this game to drop in price all that fast. If anyone comes across any good preorder deals for Batman Arkham City let me know!

You still have access to the games you buy no matter what so you're still getting savings. I'm not sure how DLC works to be honest. Maybe Miir does! Although I don't recall seeing that much free DLC stuff so mostly moot. My guess is the discounted stuff you keep forever similar to purchased games.

The free ones, as in didn't cost you shit, yeah they are only good while you're a subscriber but really how often are you going to want to play Sonic 2 or whatever? Finish them and move on you have a whole year (or more).

I'm afraid you have been misinformed.

All discounted content you 'purchase' while subscribed to PSN+ is still available when you cancel PSN+.
This includes PS3, PSP games, DLC as well as TV shows and movies.

Only your access to 'free' content is removed your you cancel PSN+
If you reactivate PSN+, your access to the 'free' content that you have previously downloaded is restored.
