Diae,
One question... You used to box a hell of a lot in EQ, are you able to do it to the same degree in WoW? It seems like it would be extremely difficult in WoW, but I am in fact a n00b, so I'm curious.
One other thing. I play a warrior and I'd really like to find the best mod to allow me to switch between different weapon configurations as I switch stances or immediately after switching stances. I've heard of several of them, but if anyone has anything they prefer, I'd be interested in learning about them.
Thanks!

I used to raid with 2-3 clerics in the rotation and my druid still doing 90% of it's damage...
the concept of even bothering to try boxing in WoW, without running bots, seems laughable to me. That's not necessarily a good thing, and I don't say it as a recommendation of WoW, there's just too many buttons to click in some kind of whack-a-mole fashion, to possibly do that on two different classes at once (running two mages might be ok...).

You can multi-box in WoW, but its pretty tough. Each class really requires a lot of button mashing to get full potential out of them. I suppose if ya played a melee/healer 2 boxing you could do quite well. Lots of button mashing on the melee with the occasional heal from the healer. But you really cant get near full potential out of both due to this mashing as you could in EQ.noel wrote:Diae,

4 machines
4 monitors
4 accounts
Beastlord, Ranger, Cleric and Berserker.
Boxing in EQ versus Boxing in WoW are really hugely different as everything about the play "style" is different. More button mashing and far quicker pacing.
I dont recommend boxing in WoW.

I really doubt you are like this to your mother/father/girlfriend/wife/brother/friends/boss/coworkers because otherwise you would be a poor, homeless, lonely, bitter, angry man. Obviously you are not homeless because you are posting online. Thus this means you have a job to pay the bills thus meaning you are not, in fact, an assmonkey to your boss. Also, since you are posting, it would mean you are "alive" thus you didnt piss your parents off to the point of a post-birth abortion which again means you are not what you make yourself to be.
Thus it really boils down to this: You are not what you seem.
Peace jackhole. I still love you.
Congrats to you figuring out that I'm a troll in the WOW forum.

Xanupox ... didnt he quit EQ around mid-Planes of Power?
I think comparing MMORPG's is a futile effort. Each has its own flavors/style. To say one is better then the other is mostly subjective. Also to say that one requires more/less skill then the other I think, mostly, is also subjective.
Its a good arguement though and one which could spawn many classic posts.
The only MMORPG's I have ever played are:
EQ1 - 5.5 years
SWG - 2.5 months (so much potential... so gay in the end)
WoW - 2+ years.
Reality is no MMORPG today is either visionary or ground breaking. The only game that can say this (and its only to a certain degree) is EQ1. Everything else followed in its footsteps without introducing anything new... mostly just 'refinement' of what aleady existed.
Someday a company will break ground on an MMORPG that is truely amazing/different, but until then Ill stick with WoW as no matter what game you choose its always the same. The only difference is how you get there. So be happy in the game you play. There is no sense trying to defend your game as being 'better' as you cannot win the arguement nor enlighten anyone to the point of agreeing you.
Example: WoW is the best game ever. Wanna fight about it?

If he's a feral druid, it should be pretty high! At least 30-35%.Psyloche wrote:Jesus christ Janx, whats your crit rate lol.
When I'm in cat, I'm at 33% self buffed. Raid buffed and a little bit of gear juggeling and I can hit 40ish%.
Rogues have really good white dmg, while cats have really good yellow dmg. I like how it works that way. The same, yet different.
On average, I still get outdmged by rogues on raids, but goddamn they have to work for it! If the mobs is bleed immune, my dps drops quite a bit.
Good to see another feral around these boards
If it's impossible to beat these mobs without it you'd be right.Fairweather Pure wrote:All the people slamming KTM really need to read this article and recognize what a scrub they are.

Is it?
I play to win and I use almost vanilla UI. Because part of my definition of winning is not being unable to play when a patch cripples my UI plug-ins.

KTM is just a waste of memory, sorry
If it actually WORKED then yeah, I would use it.
I'm not completely off base- I'm always #1 DPS by a large margin so I'm not just talking out my ass. If I was to actually manage my aggro based on KTM, my DPS would be much much lower. I couldn't begin to tell you technically WHY its inaccurate, but I can go well beyond the point where its telling me that I should pull aggro.. in fact I can even go beyond the 30% buffer where I should be making the MT eligible for Prince's enfeebles and its still inaccurate. Maybe its just innaccurate for rogues, i dunno.
The reason its hailed as such a fantastic mod is because the values it shows are so innaccurate (displaying your aggro as much higher than it actually is... for a rogue anyway).. that it really is impossible to pull aggro because its holding back your output so much. It works in the same way as an Elephant Repellant. Dont see any elephants do you? Must be working!
I shouldnt dog on people who use it though because like I said.. if it did actually represent threat accurately I would use it.. its the mod that sucks!

I don't know why we can't just move past the whole some people really like KTM and some people think it's a waste? COME ON GUYZ.
One time I saw Xouqoa in AV and I threw him off a bridge (hopefully to his death) but the 3 allies next to him made me explode a fiery, mortally striked, skillcoiled death.

If everyone has the same version it's pretty decent. I'll pull agro off the tank pretty quickly after getting higher than him on the list, as will the priest I run with most of the time...cadalano wrote:KTM is just a waste of memory, sorry

KTM really seems to require everyone to run the same version or it just starts getting completely out of sync numbers. That being said, I run it so the DPSers can kind of guage what I'm sitting at for TPS more than anything else, as that is what makes that tool so handy, not the actual threat meter, but the TPS you're currently pumping out as the tank.
For example, if I'm in a heroics and the DPS note that I suddenly get a string of TF procs by seeing my TPS jump substantially they know they can open up full tilt on that mob and I know I don't even need to worry about it anymore and can start working on whatever CC'd mob is next, allowing the DPS to continue to remain at full tilt for the remaining stuff.
It's not infallible, but really for the small memory footprint/resources it uses, as an MT it's a non-issue that I'm running it, and makes other people happy because of it.
If people are bitching because it slows down their machine / uses too much memory, then all I have to say to that is upgrade from your 1.3GHz P3 or some shit and invest in more than 256megs of ram. That, or stop downloading all that porn in the background.

I'm hoping that Imp Sanc Aura on Test turns out to be something useful. Although I highly doubt it's going to be as big as Kalgan made it out to be. 1/2% damage increase to all parties in the group is a step in the right direction, but I'd rather see 2/4%.
