Epic Weapons:
Epic weapons are a result of completing an "epic quest." These hand-tailored quests will be available to all classes. The quest themselves will be a combination of solo, group and raid content. However, these weapons are being designed for people at the upper end of the level spectrum.
The weapons themselves will be unique in design. Additionally, the weapons will have specialized characteristics that set them apart from traditional weapons.
Level Cap Increase:
The level cap increase is being designed to allow players the ability to reach levels above 65. With the level cap increase, new items, spells and quests will be available.
Guild Tribute System
This system is extremely similar to the Tribute system that's currently in game. However, the main difference is that Guild Tribute will affect the entire guild, instead of the individual.
Task System:
The task system allows players to go to various zones and request a task. These tasks are being designed for quick completion and are initially aimed at lower level players.
Custom PC Titles:
Players will be able to select titles for their characters based on various accomplishments. These titles will be available across all levels.
New Disciplines/AAs/Items/Spells/Quests/Tradeskills :
New disciplines, AAs, items, spells, quests and tradeskills continue to make EverQuest the most compelling and persistent online world ever created.
Improved Graphics:
Discover rich new zones, detailed environments with expanded graphical features, improved spell effects and all-new NPC character models to fight.
Akaran of Mistmoore, formerly Akaran of Veeshan I know I'm good at what I do, but I know I'm not the best.
But I guess that on the other hand, I could be like the rest.
I'm too lazy to look again, what's the release date now? I keep hearing Aug. 31 but I wasn't able to find anything on the EQ site last week when I looked.

I'll be buying OoW. Despite a lame storyline / lore and yet more Morden Rasp bullshit, I'm having a ton of fun with GoD. I'm looking forward to digging into OoW when it comes out.
I do hope that after OoW, SOE will be returning to more classic themes for the next expansion.

Heh, Planes of Power was one of the best expansions if you ask me, right behind Velious. I was a guild/raid-oriented player so that could be why I suppose. One of the best things I remember is how diverse and original the raid encounters were made with that expansion.

I can't quote anything or find a source but if my memory serves me I do remember someone saying something about SOE returning to the original fantasy roots with expansions following OoW and that the Mata Muram storyline would be the last of the non-fantasy / sci-fi type expansions.

Yeah, I remember seeing something about that as well. I think it came out of the guild summit a couple months ago, but don't quote me on that. Hopefully SOE will stick with that plan.

You must have forgotten all the bugs and downtimes with POoP.
1. Kunark
2. Velious
3. Everything else
There were bugs in every expansion, some moreso than others, but they all had them. PoP had a massive amount of content in it for one thing. You can't really "beta test" the high end zones without pretty much giving spoiler info out to people. It's pretty much something you get used to and deal with. I highly doubt SOE is going to hire 54-72 people that don't already play in high-end guilds to test high end content and make sure its working before they ship it out.
I personally rate how good an expansion is based on how fun it is and the content it contains, not how buggy it was at the start - which is why I personally think Velious was the best expansion, PoP following behind it.
1. Kunark
2. Velious
3. Planes of Power

Luclin and GoD are tied for worst. LDoN second worst, and we at least got dye and some Bazaar mods with that frog expansion. (frog expansion should have been free) The zones themselves are useless.
EQ2 will be the win if they are able to undertake the extremely difficult challenge of having all players actually see the same armor and models.
Might have put off buying it if the level-cap wasn't waived. I don't wanna play catch-up ever again though, so I will be picking it up as soon as possible. Keeping my 65 exp as close to max as raiding will allow until then.
Definitely buying. GoD has been fucking awesome for giving my smaller guild challenging stuff to do without requiring doubling our roster size, and I look forward to beating old content we cant touch right now because our average raid size of 24 can't cut it for most encounters.
I just hope OoW loots dont mudflate much. 2 months of KT/yxxta/ikkinz loots makes recently acquisitioned elemental loots less than inspiring. Bots rejoice though!
Current Incarnations:
Flintler, EQ2, Crushbone, HOOAC
Grahmiam, WoW, Firetree, The Crazy 88
I'm buying it. It sounds as if a lot more content will be geared towards casual play which is exactly what I spend all my time doing. Probably have spent more time in LDoN that any other expansion short of kunark (because back then, I was able to play all of the time) so this should be right up my alley. Besides, my 2h weapon option capping out at 34 28 is fucking ridiculous compared to what's out there for raiding.

I guess I was unaware of these 2 features!! Good Lord I sure need the extra buff slots... self buffed plus KEI and Virtue my weenie Ranger walks around with 13 as it is... that sure doesn't leave much room for shaman buffs!
As for the extra spell gem, CLR and BRD will benefit greatly... RNG only allowed to cast Ensnare and Jolt and maybe a few buffs anymore, so it's not an issue with that character...
This post was a shameless attempt to farm VV's by posting a reply that no one will read. HAR!
Depending how the new spell buffs stack (ie: first it was Aego, then it was Virtue, then it was Kazad + B0t9), an extra buff slot might not be necessary. Then it's more of a convenience than a necessity.

Kunark was the best, then Velious, then PoP. I liked PoP and found lots of really compelling encounters. Grummus was even a challenging and different sort of encounter (though i guess you could say it is just a cracked out Sontalak - ie kill it before it kills you).
there were some flaws with PoP, but i think Coirnav and Rathe were actually cool. Can't pretend to like xegony though
as for Omens of War, not buying, cause i don't play anymore.
