I tried it briefly due to the augmented reality part of it. Amazing how fast the game took off in popularity. It's a good sign for future AR glasses in the works by a few companies.

I'm not much on wandering around the real world so won't be playing it but interesting start to AR type games. There was an earlier AR game called "Ingress" I think or something close to that but didn't have Pokemon name behind it so didn't take off in popularity.

I'm playing. #TeamInstinct here. Level 15 now and while I don't have any Pokemon in the 1000 range her, I do have an 935 Flareon and a bunch in the high 600's to high 700's.
I had played Ingress for a while and am familiar with the Niantic way of doing things.

It's kind of shocking how crazy things have been going for this game.

This is a fad that I hope dies down quickly. There are some truly dumb people out there crashing their cars into trees (could have easily been another car/bicycle/pedestrian instead of a tree) and walking off cliffs all for some stupid digital creatures.

I can't imagine it lasting too long. People are lazy and they have to walk/drive around with this game.

The amount of money spent on gas to get around for this game must be in the millions.

I was hoping Nintendo would go away but looks like that's not happening anytime soon.

This game is having a negative impact on society. Folks are leaving their homes, exploring their communities, meeting new people, getting exercise, and having fun. It's just awful.

Anyone else here still playing this here? I never really stopped over the last year. Level 33 at the moment and I've caught each of the Legendaries that have been popping up the last few weeks.

There's a great local community using Discord to report and organize raids and it's working very effectively.

Hopefully you weren't a part of that disaster over in Chicago 2 weeks ago.

Personally I never understood the whole Pokemon trend but maybe I'm just old and out of touch. I can live with that!

Oh hell no. I may be a geek, but not one willing to travel to celebrate a freemium game.

I stopped playing after about a month. Collecting balls became too much of a chore.

Huh. I had you pegged for a "give me ALL the balls" type.

I'm pretty okay at juggling balls, if they're all the same size and not too large.
