"An Evening With Roger Waters"

Post by Neziroth »

Went to this concert last night, and hooooooooly shit this guy hasn't lost a bit of talent over the years.

For anyone who doesn't know, Roger Waters was the singer who made Pink Floyd what they were.

It was an impressive Setlist, songs included from what I can recall:

Shine On You Crazy Diamond Parts 1-7 (entire thing)
Fletcher Memorial Home
Hey You
Sheep (Amazing job on this one with voice effects)
Echoes
Wish You Were Here
The Happiest Days of our Lives

(10 min break)

Then they played Dark Side of the Moon from start to finish:

Speak to me / Breathe
On The Run
Time
Great Gig in the Sky (With an amazingly talented woman singing)
Money
Us and Them
Any Color You Like
Brain Damage
Eclipse

Then they left the stage and came back for an encore which included:
Another Brick in the Wall Parts 1 and 2
Vera
Comfortably Numb

It was only $29 for lawn seats, and the venue we were in had us about 300 feet from the stage up on a hill where we could see just fine, and there were huge video monitors all around as well.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you see him if he comes to your town if you're a Pink Floyd fan.

He was more than the singer, he was the bass player, and the primary songwriter up through The Wall and The Final Cut.

If you're interested, his solo work has some amazing things...most notably the album Amused to Death...which he considers his greatest work.

I knew he was the writer also, I didn't know he was the bass player though.

Amazing mind on that guy, that's for sure. He played one of his own solo songs, and I didn't like it as much as I liked his older Pink Floyd stuff, maybe because I didn't know it, I dunno.

I think I was the only one there not smoking something. It was weird, people are passing pipes, bongs, acid, X, you name it, and the security guards were just watching and laughing at people when they fell down. People were laying all over the place passed out or zoning out and nobody cared.

It was kinda nice seeing people let other people do whatever they wanted as long as they didn't hurt anybody. That's how it should be, imho.

The first duty of a patriot is to question the government
