Dexter Season 1

Post by Zamtuk »

Does anyone else watch this show? It comes on Sundays on Shotime and is really good. It revolves around a blood spatter analyst who works with the Miami PD and is also a serial killer. If you haven't seen it, but have Shotime, watch it.

It is based off the book Darkly Dreaming Dexter which actually has a thread in the book forum.

I just caught an episode of this show on sunday while channel surfing, and although i haven't seen any previous episodes nor do i know any of the characters it still caught my interest. I liked what i saw so i'll definitely be picking this up when it comes out on DVD or On Demand... whichever comes first.

The entire season one is currently on Showtime On Demand.

The finale was amazing and very intense for most of it. The ending was superb, though I'm not sure where they could go for a second season to really perk my interest. Though, I'm sure they'll think of something.

I LOVE THIS SHOW. It is my favorite television show ever. The characters are so complicated and interesting, and the way that Dexter interacts with them is amazing. The way his relationship evolves with Rita is just great to watch.

Dexter is himself is one of the best characters I've seen on television. He is so deep, and he delivers his monologues so eloquently, with just a trace of doubt over the kind of person he thinks he is. He is so amazingly portrayed by Michael C. Hall. He's also fucking hot which just seals the deal!

I hope they make a season 2 because it is pretty much the only show I'm completely interested in.

I agree this is a great show. I do have a problem seperating Hall from his Six Feet Under role I'm not sure why...He is superb in the role.

Wonderful plot twists and very real characters. The book is well worth a read also...Darkly Dreaming Dexter.

Looking forward to another season.

I think after the season finale they mentioned that it's picked up for a second season. I definitely can't wait and will be getting this when it makes it's way to DVD.

I got through episode 5 or 6 last night, and read the book yesterday at work. They're quite a bit different, though I would have to imagine that the Ice Truck Killer is going to end up being the same.

I'm interested to see if they take it in the same direction before revealing it.

I hope that's not spoilerish.

Just to add my 2 pence, this is as good as everyone has been saying IMHO.

And yeah, the book is quite different but I think I liked the TV ending better than the book.. YMMV ^^

I finally got around to downloading the first season off torrent. Great series and Michael C. Hall plays Dexter perfectly. Going to have to pick up the books and see how close the series is. Season 2 begins in October for anyone interested. :)

I just watched Season 1 via OnDemand. Fannnnntastic stuff, and I can't wait for season 2. I might have to watch Six Feet Under just to see Michael C. Hall in some more stuff. He's awesome.

Watching episode 8 right now, and having fun. Love how they managed to make a serial killer/sociopath come off as a nice guy :)

Oh.. you most definitely should watch Six Feet Under. He's not the only great thing about that show though. Watch a few episodes and you'll see why it won so much acclaim from viewers and critics. It's possibly the most brilliant and memorable show I've ever watched.

The wife and I are waiting on disc 4 to show up. We have HBO, not Showtime so this is the first time we have seen it. We love it, but I have to agree with the above statement. Most episodes she goes off on Dexter over nothing. She seems pretty clueless as a cop too.

Finished watching Season 1.

I really don't like his sister. She's always on the verge of a meltdown of some sort, about some pretty lame shit too. Made any legitimate meltdowns less sympathetic. Plus I think she's kinda skanky...

Yeah, that was pretty true to the original book though; foul-mouthed, whiny bitch, who for some reason both resents Dexter's relationship to her father and at the same time looks to Dexter for assistance all the time.

I think Jennifer is super hot though... for a skinny chick.

Three years later, I finally got around to watching Dexter.

I've watched the first 7 episodes. Those have been enough to hook me for the remaining 41 episodes of the first 4 seasons. Great stuff. I found myself wondering how they could keep it interesting for an entire season much less four seasons but from the "wow"s I see in the season 4 thread, I doubt I'll be disappointed .

Best thing about movies and TV is that It will always be there waiting for you (at least until 2012!)

Edit: As of Episode 6, I think I already know what's going on regarding Dexter's nemesis and hope I'm wrong because it would be too obvious.

Another note about this series, James Remar (Harry Morgan) has the same creepy voice he had way back in 1982 when he played the bad guy in 48 hours. Took me a sec to place it but I recognized the voice right away. Can't believe it's been over 25 years since that movie.
