If I had to guess I'd say that (disabling/removing) was part of the emergency patch this morning. It's not really a needed feature for everyday play imo so I don't mind if they remove it.

I used to play EQ at 800x600. But after messing with the new interface a bit I discovered that you need to at least go to 1024x768. There's too much clutter on the new dialogs. At least until someone customizes it.
